So I've now started something I love and adore to call "The Mess Up". If you've been living under a scratched boulder, let me inform you. Basically, it's now part of the Scratch ToS that art will be used to train AI. Now, I'm glad about this. "GASP" "OMG WHY ARE YOU GLAD ABOUT IT, ISSAC?! HE SUPPORTS AI! GASP!" Now, it's important to note that AI is not just used for creative fields. It's been used for medical fields, much before generative AI was a thing, to detect cancer and stuff. For those fields, it's a powerful and very helpful tool. Meanwhile... Also, I don't support generative AI in any way whatsoever. I hate it because it steals from artists and is using our water for stupid purposes. It contaminates nearby water. It adds to people's electrical bills without them doing anything. If you don't use electricity, you still have to pay to keep a GMSDM (Giant Machine of Stupidity in Middletown, Delaware) running. Now, the reason I consider this a good move (not from their perspective) is because let me tell you something. Do you consider most of the art here good? Let me give you 10 seconds to answer that. No? Good. It isn't. This is a place for 9-year-olds to express creativity, and the 9-year-olds I'VE met are not good artists. At- at all. They're actively making AI worse. However, I do think a good argument against this is that, well, it makes it look more authentic when it's souless, but again, it ruins lines and perspective. Who will use an image generator that generates wiggly pics of cats?
And to make it sloppier, I did a bunch of abstract art for it to feast on and make their art actively worse. If y'all wanna participate in "The Mess-Up", you can! Make the AI worse! Feed it horrible things!
