idk why my animation sparked a lot of controversy (the Nonchalant Elevator Collab part) so imma clear up a few things. To all saying my animation “looks AI” or is “assisted with AI”: 1) NO AI WAS USED. ZERO. Generative AI is a parasite on creativity. Moving on as that is not my main topic, To all saying I straight up lied about animating with Scratch, or undermining it: 2) In my videos I write that it’s “animated with Scratch.” What i mean by this is not that it’s completely produced purely with Scratch, hence the WITH. The character animation was completely done in the Scratch fork TurboWarp (with the exception of one thing that i’ll get into later), then brought into Adobe After Effects for lighting/shading and compositing. After the second impact frame of Gio kicking Axel the Pineapple, I switch from 2D Axel to a 3D-modeled version of Axel. Yes i modeled it myself from the ground up. This is so the part where he bounces around the elevator really quickly causing chaos can look more accurate since i am not the best w/ perspective & Axel is a complicated character to do perspective with. The elevator going down is also a 3D reconstruction of the room past the elevator. The glass-breaking (NOT a drag and drop effect btw), sparks and other effects were done in Adobe AE. This is what I mean by “Animated with Scratch.” It’s used in its core for animation, then further expanded on using other software. Not to cut corners, but to push it further than it would’ve on its own. I chose to make this with Scratch as I wanted to inspire the community with what is possible with Scratch, it’s a really powerful tool. Creativity has no limits. I will post a Scratch version of the collab part here so you guys can look at the project files (probably on ), so be on the lookout for that. Otherwise, I am busy with some new animations so stay tuned. This is my style and I won’t give it up! Here’s some behind-the-scenes of my animation for further proof: https://youtube.com/shorts/KTL79rrFP3o Credit to for hosting this awesome collab & inviting me one nonetheless!
