The Angler Class of ASW Frigates was conceived in the early 1990s to combat potential submarine threats in the region. The Angler Class Frigate, has a potent ASW suite, 16 cell Mk41 VLS, 76mm Oto Melera Compact, 8x AShM, triple torpedo tubes, AESA radar and SeaRAM after its refit. It has a single hangar for medium lift helicopters with extra space accommodated for extra ASW equipment. Sitting at 139m long, the Angler Class is designed to be quiet as it actively plays its submarine hunting roles, being able to deploy torpedoes, ASW helicopters and ASROC against subsurface threats. Currently, the Royal Karsvetian Navy still operates 6 of such frigates.
