Atom Chomper is an American-Canadian animated series that ran from September 8th 1984 - December 14th 1985 on SBC (Scratch Broadcasting Company) part of their “Saturday TOONS!” Saturday Morning block (8AM-12PM). It has 2 seasons with 13 episodes each, the series was created by the Animation Studio, Tracey Marlakey. After the success of the Arcade game, Atom Chopper, TM approached Makon and made a deal to commission an Atom Chomper series. It was pitched to SBC and was picked up for 2 seasons. By the 2nd season, that season had to have high ratings in hopes for a possible 3rd, but TM struggled with Atom Chopper ratings, and then it got cancelled after 2 seasons. Then it later got taken off air in 1986. First Episode: “Welcome to Chomp Land!” - September 8th, 1984. Last Episode: “The Great Disgrace” - December 14th, 1985. Trivia: - When making the show, TM made a new Atom who was purple, and had a crush on AC (Atom Chopper). - The designs are based on the American box-art designs with a few changes. - A new character was added called “The Darklord” who instructed the Atoms to catch AC. - The show had the Atoms chomp back the Chompers - This show takes partial inspiration from the Pac Man series from 1982. - Atom Chopper mostly doesn’t talk in this series unlike a few scenes - This show has it’s own pasta
