Hello everyone! Welcome back to another one of my s-pop rants. My last one has been quite well received, so I thought I'd talk about another problem which I have with the s-pop community. By the way, when I comment I don't put as much though into how I say things and I feel like I have a tendency of sounding kinda rude so if I reply to u take what I say with a grain of salt! We all know what generative AI is, ai that generates text, images, videos, music etc. It's taking all over the media right now. With easier access to advanced generative AI such as chatgpt, using it has never been easier, which is what makes it so unavoidable - so much that it has found its way into the scratch community. A few companies using AI for their thumbnails, pfps, banners and bios appear every now and then and a surprising amount of companies nowadays discretely use AI to create their descriptions and bios. The worst part is most of the time they'll either imply the content was made by them, delete comments calling them out or flat out lie to people and try to manipulate you into thinking YOU'RE the crazy one. One experience I have with this is me confronting a company which I was going to join for a survival show, however I eventually realised all of their content was AI and so I called them out on being dishonest. To my surprise, instead of owning up they doubled down and claimed that "I can't just leave". even though I literally ran their thumbnails and descriptions through Ai detectors and you wouldn't believe it... 98% certainty of AI. What makes using AI for something like s-pop so frustrating is that it defeats the whole purpose. Aside from promotion and putting the songs together, visuals and aesthetics are pretty much the only major job of s-pop companies. If you're just using AI, you're lazy and don't actually care about producing art, which is unfair to the people who do. And let's be real - the overall branding never ends up looking good. The descriptions sound way too professional while also sounding corny, and the thumbnails are some processed photo of a real idol with some ugly ahh text. I beg of you. Do not audition for these companies as they often don't put any effort into promotion, no one will want to support you as an artist under the company, and I know most s-pop idols are better than that. That being said, how can you tell whether something is AI? It's getting pretty good, and after all I was almost once fooled. Here are some dead give aways that a company uses AI. 1. Thumbnails - Contains an overly edited photo of a real idol, or is very similar to an existing photo but is slightly off. - The font isn't consistent - the O's or E's are each slightly different. No one is going to put time and effort into hand drawing the text. - Contains multiple smaller images/details that are the same but not the same. Eg: contains doodles of little stars but they're each a bit different. . No one is putting effort into making or finding a whole bunch of pictures when it's is easier to just copy and paste one image. 2. Descriptions and text - Isn't specific to s-pop, or is explaining what s-pop is. Eg: "virtual kpop group on scratch" or just referring to it as kpop.... AI does not know what s-pop is, meaning it never says anything specific to s-pop. It usually refers to it as "kpop on scratch". - Mottos or just phrases including lots of dashes (-) Eg: "We're not just another company - we're making dreams come true". Chatgpt LOVES using dashes. - Very little variety of symbols. Often only uses symbols at the end of phrases or for mottos. The only ones they typically use are: ✧, ✦ , ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ , and in general super simplistic twinkly ones. 3. Other factors - The way they talk does not match their descriptions at all. And I'm not talking about using typing quirks or just being silly, but if their descriptions are super professional sounding but the way they type has lack of punctuation/totally different punctuation, uses way more simplistic vocabulary, compared to their descriptions, it may be a sign of AI usage. - Deleting comments which call them out. This ones a pretty obvious sign. Hope this lists helps a little! And don't be afraid to call it out if you notice someone using it. Most of the community has ur back. /illit ref. That's all from me :33 bye byee
