Izuku was slammed to the ground. “Gh-” Pain shot through him as he tried to breathe. His ribs were likely broken. That wasn't good. (****- I have to get up-) The Symbol of Peace stood over him, his face a grim mask of determination. “Villains like you and Bakugou cannot be allowed to roam free.” He turned away. “Whatever you've done to her mind has twisted her beyond saving. I will find her and put her out of her misery.” (Kacchan.) Izuku twitched. “Don't-” He wheezed. “Don't you touch her-” “Stay down, villain.” All Might began to walk away. (No- Kacchan- I need to save Kacchan-!) ‘Come on, ‘Zuku!’ ‘Oi, Deku! Get over here!’ ‘I love you.’ ‘You ARE my world. You're all I want.’ ‘Love.’ ‘Hon.’ ‘...Izuku.’ His vision went red. Deep inside him, he felt something unlock. ‘I've given you a gift, Usagi. It will be there when you need it.’ His mouth opened in a silent scream as energy coursed through his veins, his bones, his very atoms. His ribs reknit. His arm snapped back into place. The energy filled him until he felt like he was about to burst. He rose into the air, his crimson eyes focusing on the number one hero’s back. “...” He touched down, and the ground cracked beneath his feet. The hero turned, his eyes widening in surprise. “What is-” “You will not touch her.” Izuku became a blur, his fists moving too fast for the Symbol of Peace to track. “I won't let you hurt her.” One slammed into the hero’s stomach, then into his chest, then his head, his arms, everywhere. Izuku moved faster and faster, a violent red glow rising from him. “I WILL NOT LET YOU HARM HER!” His eyes shifted from red to a bright, vibrant green as he felt something being... siphoned out of the hero and into himself. Steam began to billow from All Might’s body. “What- impossible-! You're his successor!? You can't be, you're just a boy-” Izuku grabbed him by the face and rose into the air. Purple sparks arced between the two of them. The siphoning sensation grew stronger. “That monster is using children-!?” He stared coldly at All Might. “All For One is no monster. Watch your words.” There was a burst of steam, and All Might was gone. In his place was a thin twig of a man, his hero costume sagging on his bony frame. “So this is the true form of the Symbol of Peace.” Izuku’s face twisted in disgust. “Pathetic.” He dropped the man. Power coursed through his body. (...so this is what One For All feels like.) He raised a hand, and a different version of Blackwhip came out of his palm. He watched the greenish-black tendrils wave around. “...huh.” He raised his other hand, and his jagged red version of Blackwhip shot out, jerking and snapping at the air. (Interesting. He really did plan for this to happen.) Both retracted. Izuku channeled One For All and flicked his finger. A shockwave slammed into the ground, creating yet another massive crater. Izuku grinned. Suddenly, he felt multiple presences behind him. He turned. “Hm?” Ghostly people floated there. “You aren't worthy of this Quirk.” Izuku blinked, then smirked. “That’s too **** bad.” One of the figures stepped forward, a man with white hair. “We cannot let you give One For All to All For One.” “Oh, I won't.” The man blinked. “...what?” “This Quirk combines with the user’s existing Quirks, correct?” “...yes?” “So my Quirks are now part of it?” “Yes, they are.” “So if I gave it to All For One, I'd be Quirkless.” “Yes.” Izuku grinned. “I'm not letting that happen. Besides...” He turned to shoot a glare down at Twig Might. “I'm allowed to keep it. AFO told me that if I did end up gaining One For All, it would be my Quirk to have. As a gift.” He landed, and the ground cracked beneath his feet. (...I have to make sure Kacchan is okay.) He teleported in a puff of green smoke. ————————————————— Pain pounded at Katsumi’s head. The world was a blurry smear of color, her vision fading in and out of focus. (What... where...?) She could vaguely make out a smear of green, red, and black moving towards her. (Hurts...) The smear made noise. Speaking? A spike of agony drove through her skull at the sound, and she cried out, clutching at her head. She just wanted to go back to sleep. She didn't understand what was going on... —————————————————
Izuku stared worriedly down at Katsumi’s battered body. Her eyes were barely open, unfocused. “Kacchan? Kacchan, it's me.” He knelt beside her. “Can you hear me?” Her bruised hands trembled as she clutched at her head, letting out a pained cry. Blood ran down her temple. “Kacchan!” She squeezed her eyes shut, curling in on herself. (Is she concussed?) He swore under his breath and closed his eyes, searching inside himself, reaching. How had he activated that Quirk- He felt something flow through his arms, and he opened his eyes. His hands had a soft, pulsing red glow around them. “Kacchan,” He said softly, “This might feel weird. But it'll help.” He put his hands on her head, and the glow covered her body. She jerked and spasmed, convulsing. “Ghk-” Her bruises faded, the flow of blood from her temple stemming. She laid there, her eyes closed. “Kacchan? Darling? My love?” Izuku moved his hands away, though they hovered anxiously near her. “...Katsumi?” “Guh-” Her eyes flew open, and she jolted so hard she fell off the couch. He caught her. “What the hell-” She blinked. “Oh- it's not blurry anymore.” “Kacchan!” Izuku set her down and carefully helped her sit up. “Do you feel alright?” She touched the blood at her temple, staring at it. “...what the hell happened?” “All Might threw you into a wall.” “Oh. Jeez. Why doesn't everything hurt anymore?” He smiled shakily. “I- I healed you.” Energy still coursed through him. “What? How-” Katsumi blinked. “...uh. Hon, you're... sparking.” Izuku looked down at his arms. Sparks of red and green energy arced along his skin. He let the energy fade. “Oh. Yeah. Um. I think I had some sort of Quirk awakening? Oh, also-” He activated One For All. “I took All Might’s Quirk.” Part 52. Where he fights the false hope of a broken society.
