I'm going to preface this by saying: I'm doing my best to be respectful and apologetic, while also standing beside my opinion and perspective. Please finish the project before commenting <3 When I started the anti-asianboo comm a few days ago, my main objective was NOT to start drama, or alienate people, or anything of the sort. I wanted to convince asianboos to be proud of their own culture and ethnicity, because by pretending to be a different ethnicity, you're putting people who are actually that ethnicity in a box, and telling them that all they are is an aesthetic, while also telling people of your ACTUAL ethnicity that they're somehow less than the ethnicity you're putting on (apologies for the overuse of "ethnicity" it's the best word I could think of :')) I genuinely meant no harm, and simply wanted to help people feel more comfortable in their cultures, but somewhere along the road, things got out of hand. I understand I should have kept things controlled, because as the host of the comm, that was my job, and I didn't, I gave people free rein. You all deserve freedom, but rules should have been invoked sooner. For that I am truly sorry. I still believe asianboos and rctas are bad, and I still hope to persuade them to appreciate their own ethnicities, but I went about it in the wrong way, and I'm extremely apologetic for that. I had no part in any of the @herhare drama (I've been pretty ia for the past few days, so I've missed a lot, I'm just assuming there was some), and I wasn't super involved in any @daisiyuo hate, but I'm genuinely, truly sorry for how things turned out. We shouldn't have tried to find any of your social medias, or real names, or pictures, or ANYTHING. This is a kid's coding site, not the FBI. Scratch is supposed to be safe and fun, and we made it partially not that way. I'm so terribly sorry for how things turned out. I (along with the managers of the anti-asianboo comm, since those were the very first curators of the comm) meant well, and I'm so sorry that that wasn't communicated through our words and actions. I'll do my best in the future to do better <3 If you feel you deserve an apology, please don't hesitate to ask for one. I want to apologize to anyone who needs closure from me, because I might not necessarily remember any hand I had in harm done to you, and you deserve closure just like anyone else. As for my rcta projects, I'm taking down the posts that still stand, seeing as they're rather antagonizing, and that's not how I want to be. I hope very much that this makes people feel better and understand that I'm truly sorry for the harm caused by my words and/or actions. much love and respect for all of you, - April, host of the anti-asianboo comm
