Ch 1 - A Tale of Two Kings (TW: mentions of violence and ichor[fake bl00d]) Dyle: “Once upon a time, there was a great war between two kingdoms, a kingdom resembling flowers, known as the the kingdom of Petals, and a kingdom resembling time, known as the Clock Kingdom. Eventually, the two kings had a battle, Dandy, the king of Petal kingdom, won, yet still spared Dyle, the clock kingdom king, they became great friends and their kingdoms swore peace with each other… Until, one day, as King Dyle woke from his slumber, and saw a terrifying sight, King Dandy was attempting to stab Dyle in his sleep, a serious matter of treason, restarting the war completely. The end.” Dyle places the book down, the children all staring at him, most looking shocked or confused. “King Dyle, how could Dandy do that to you?” Dyle shrugs, “No one knows, it’s been a question unanswered for years, it's likely because of greed. All he wanted was my wealth, power, and my land.” Another child gets up to say something, “Is it true that you two are brothers?” All the other children stare at them for asking the question like they were stupid. One is about to say he’s entirely wrong, but Dyle interrupts, “Yes, it is true, me and Dandy did share parents, a house, and childhood. We are indeed brothers by blood.” Everyone gasps, “How could your own brother do that to you?!” Brightney walks in, “Hi, kids!” She turns to Dyle “Your Majesty, you have your speech at 5PM, and it’s 4:43…” Dyle turns back to the kids. “Well, it’s time for me to go. Bye, everyone!” All the children say farewell to Dyle as he exits with Brightney. Dyle thinks about something. “Why did he do that to me..?” He shrugs it off. “Maybe someday I’ll talk to him about it.” After Dyle’s speech, most of the royal workers have gathered at a long table, eating dinner. Everyone is conversating, drinking, and laughing. Suddenly the room goes slightly quiet. No one speaks or laughs for a bit. The silence is suddenly cut through with a cough, coming from Brusha, a royal knight on the other side of the table from Dyle, it was a rather loud cough, followed with another, and repeated very loud coughs, one eventually throwing blood out of her mouth, Teagan, Finn, and Dyle all run to her attempting to help, but Brusha’s head collapses into her plate. Ichor spilling out of her mouth and nose. Brusha had been poisoned.
