A little pong game I made for a school project. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's bouncy, it's got splash text, it's Pong! Take control of the paddle in a "HD" version of the classic "Pong." There's not much to the game right now, because pong is a simple game. However, I fully intend to continue work, with themes, the ability to change settings, and more! If you don't know how Pong works, here's how: You take control of a paddle which you guide with your mouse. You bounce it back and forth with another AI paddle until one of you lets the ball go past and the game ends. This pong includes a fully functional AI who will make mistakes as time goes on. Because a round of Pong is relatively short, an entire game takes about 20-30 seconds before the AI starts making enough errors for you to win. Also, after the ball starts going over 14 steps/second (which can happen randomly after around the 20 second mark), the AI will begin to "panic" and move randomly until the speed drops below 14 steps/second. In the game, the ball's average speed increases as time goes on. The longer you play a round, the harder it gets. Technically, part of this game is based on luck, but most of it is skill.
The concept of this game goes to the developers of Atari and their original game, Pong. All of the code and most of the artwork in this game belong completely to me, the one exception being (if you can really call it artwork) the fonts used for the text in the game, and even then some of the text was made by me. I used Sketchpad 4.0 to create the artwork. All sounds are part of Scratch's default library.
