Attack Commentary: 1. Put my all into the first attack of the year so I cound show improvement. Tried to mess with the lighting on this one but I'm really happy with how the background turned out. 2. Quick lil doodle 3. Tried to experiment with texture more on this one. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I'll 100% come back to that brush later 4. Traditional attack! I was away from home a lot this July so a good half of my attacks are traditional. I started with this easier one to kind of ease into it and figure out how to make them about the same quality. 5. Again, still trying to get used to my colored pencils again- My traditional art usually is only doodles in my math notes 6. One goal I had for this fight was to work on drawing humans. I have a close irl friend who I used to write stories with and these are two characters we wrote about that evolved into main characters in her fantasy series project. Since she was on artfight this year, I decided to draw them as a starting point. I'm really happy with how they turned out! 7. Quick lil art 8. Experimented with shading styles on this one 9. Tried different artstyle, but it didn't really catch on. Glad I tried it tho! 10. This other kitty was in an apocalypse so I drew him with Yardstick. Mostly meant this one as a fun one but there's just something about it that makes me happy to look at. I tend to overblend things so I focused a lot on not making the shading extra subtle. 11. Probably my favorite attack of the entire fight. Really happy with the trees on this one as well as how the characters turned out. 12. Some rock art from camping! 13. This one turned out really good 14. Had some fun with colors on this one 15. Working on humans again, this time with fullbodies. I found I'm more confident experimenting on traditional mediums so I barely drew any humans digitally this fight. I wanted to get good at drawing them before some of the human measure of the end povs 16. Loved the character design on this one- wish it turned out better tho 17. Fully colored human. Happy with my progress from the beginning of July. 18. Quick sketch 19. Wish I'd picked a different background but I wanted to get inspo from my surroundings and I'm happy with how the background turned out. 20. More experimentation 21. Found some characters all named Amber and drew them with my OC. Had a lot of fun creating an amber background that still looked good and finding new ways to shade. 22. Another name-based attack, this time with the name Morning 23. I can't stop thinking about State farm when I look at this design. Happy with the floof 24. Really happy with the lineart experimentation I did on this one 25. Quick sketch 26. Another attack on my friend. Happy with some elements, less so with others. Mostly did this one for fun. 27. Loved this character design (this user's revenge made me really happy but I didn't share it in my other project because it has spoilers for measure of the end. If you go look at it don't say anything about it please) 30. Another quick art 31. Tried to put a but more effort into this one 32. Don't usually draw cats that aren't warrior cats. Probably could've done better 33. Happy with the clothes on this one, less so with the hair. 34. Really quick sketch 35. Really happy with how this character looked in my style. Maybe I'll make some OCs that are fluffy like this. 36. Again, working on furthering my style. 37. Having fun with expressions on this one 38. My last attack supposedly. One user didn't want art of their character posted on other sites, so it's blacked out. Really happy with that one so please go look at the full piece. 39. Last minute quick attack I looked before posting this and there's some attacks I forgot to bring in. I don't feel like any of them were experimentation tho they were mostly quicker digital attacks that were relatively non-challenging. I think there's six in total so if u wanna go look at those u can Overall a really fun Artfight my battle ratio was 65% compared to last year's (I forgot what it was but it was 40 something I think- like 42 maybe?) and my overall's up to 52 so hopefully I can keep that up next year!
