The Tupolev Tu-154 is a medium-range jet airliner designed in the Soviet Union. It was developed as an enlarged and improved version of the earlier Tu-134. Key features include three turbofan engines clustered at the rear and wings with a pronounced anhedral angle. It made its maiden flight in 1968, and production continued until 2013, with a total of 1,015 aircraft built. This specific model is the Tu-154M, which incorporated revolutionary improvements over previous versions and is powered by three Soloviev D-30KU-154-II engines. It can carry up to 180 passengers and has a range of 6,600 kilometers when flying empty. Although primarily operated in the Soviet Union, Russia, and their satellite states—and having since ceased scheduled passenger service—it remains in use by several countries for military and other purposes.
