❖ ❖ ❖ Notes ❖ ❖ ❖ This is a 13 px variable-width font based on the earliest type of blackletter, called "textura". If you want to use any of the alternative designs, read the instructions in the "Alternative Designs" sprite. Recreating the characters in such low resolution was a fun challenge that required lots of experimentation and some creative liberties. Textura (a.k.a. "textualis" or "Gothic bookhand") is the earliest type of blackletter, developed in the 12th century, and used in Gutenberg's early printed works in the 15th century. Learn about textura here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackletter#Textura https://jakerainis.com/blog/the-history-of-blackletter-calligraphy/ ❖ ❖ ❖ Credits ❖ ❖ ❖ I based the design on examples of textura calligraphy drawn by Karl-Erik Forsberg in the 1986 book "Skrift, Handledning i kalligrafi" (Writing, Guide to Calligraphy).
