But, this family fell apart on a rainy night, after Diamond's mate, Thorn, and her pup, Moon was swept away by a river, and was entangled in plants beneath the river. Diamond dove in and saved Moon first, who was unharmed, but wet. When Diamond was licking Moon dry, it started raining harder, and the river was flooding and the current flowed fast. Instead of diving in again to save Thorn, she watched her mate, with the flooding waters up to her chest, struggle to tear himself free, then fall limp. Diamond wailed in dispair, and she heard a soft, silky voice from above, saying, "What a heroic deed. But Fsate had decreed that if you saved your mate, all three of your family will escape the flood, alive. For that reason, I hereby give your pup the gift of sight, so she can see Fate's tapestry of a future, but in return, she forgets a part of her life. Your pup from this moment on, will be known as Moon Sight, in reminder of the gift I have bestowed upon her." Moon Sight's eye's suddenly glowed green as she snuggled Diamond, and gasped. Then, as fast as it started, it ended, and Moon whimpered, "Daddy is under river. You get Daddy, but he no move. You then dig hole in ground and put him in it. Why?" Diamond looked angrily to the sky and cried, "This must be a curse, to give a little pup a power like that!" The sky didn't answer, and Diamond pulled Moon Sight closer and whispered, "D-do you remember why?" Moon Sight shook her head, "Why are we here? Why am I wet? We're inside a cave. Why Dad in river?" "You, you don't remember anything?" Diamond asked softly. "No..." Diamond silently thanked the voice in the sky, then told her pup, "Today will be a new start," she promised, "A spirit gave you the gift of seeing into the future. It will be terrifying, yes, but you can see what bad will happen, but don't use it too much. You will forget a part of your past. Also don't use it for bad. Promise me, okay?" Moon Sight yawned, "Okay, Mommy." Unfortunately, Diamond died several moons afterwards due to an illness, but her words didn't die with her. Moon Sight now uses her powers carefully: no overusing it, no manipulation of wolves. For now, Moon lives a happy, life of a pup.
