With rebuilding efforts having been going on for a few year now, Kefeon's economy should have recovered t osomething near the pre-war state, with the immediate economic struggles of the war hopefully at least mostly resolved we can go about reconstructing our once nearly-formidable navy. A general refit of every ship in the fleet occurs, replacing the outdated railguns with lasers and removing the majority of the ships' spinal mounts for more structural stability and more room for stuff like damage control and power production. Onto the topic of shields. the shield is, whilst often seen by some other powers and basically needed, a last resort defence. They protect against stuff striking the ship itself and, if things go to plan most weapons will not get a chance to. The refit and newly constructed ships are filled with numerous small point defence-dedicated laser batteries alongside the larger ones that will vaporise incoming missiles or slugs before they can get close, and if they do get "close" (close in terms of space, still very far from the ship) then interceptor missiles, which our ships feature large compliments of, will be launched to strike the projectile or missile and either destroy it or send it far off course. And even if a projectile hits us, thats what armour is for, and armour doesnt take it;s own dedicated onboard powerplant to remain active. Whilst the refit ships will bolster our navy for now, they're still just the ships that lost the war with new technology strapped on (except you imperialist class you can stay), and so we must begin phasing them out. Groups of the nation's best and brightest are being convened to design new ships for our fleet to replace the ageing designs in service now. Also we authorise the imperialist class to remain in service for another 50 years we are not letting that thing die ever its the A-10 of the cbmv.
put this off for a while cause its borig let there be slop
