"Keep up, sir." Paul hummed, keeping his hands behind his back and continued walking. Tord was taller than Paul- and the leader here, so Paul didn't understand how Tord was so slow, trying to stay behind. It really didn't make sense. Tord didn't answer. Of course he didn't. He didn't really answer Paul. However, he did start walking faster, walking beside Paul. Paul grinned slightly, looking forward, closing his eyes for a second, exhaling through his nose, before glancing at Tord and grinning. Tord just looked back at him. "Where are we even going?" He asked after a few seconds. "Oh, don't act like you don't remember." Paul chirped, looking forward, continuing to grin. He knew Tord didn't remember. That's what made this so... perfect. He's not going to tell anyone. He's not going to remember anything. This makes everything better. Paul glanced over at Tord. Of course...the burns. Paul grinned slightly, looking forward. The hallway seemed to get darker, red alarms going off, but Paul ignored them, not caring what Tord did. "We're not supposed to be here." Paul stopped midstep, turning his head. Tord had stopped walking, staring at Paul nervously. "Oh, of course, other soldiers aren't supposed to be here. We can be here all we want." He said. Tord didn't move. Just stood there. Paul's smile faltered. "Sir." Tord paused, swallowing, rubbing his neck. "I...right...right. Work has to be done around here, no matter what's going on. I..I should trust you." "Exactly, sir. I'm not going to do anything to you. I don't bite." Paul hummed, turning around and continuing to walk. "I'm just trying to help you out." "I know..." Tord muttered quietly, though his voice held distrust. Paul decided not to say anything about it.. right now anyway. Besides, Tord had work to do. Paul didn't. He had all the freetime in the world. And the best excuse is just to say that he's helping Tord out or that it's his /own/ work, despite it not being. Unless Tord wrote it down somewhere, he wouldn't remember anything out of it. So what's the harm with it? Nothing. And that's perfect. What's Patryk going to do about it? NOTHING! He's an obedient soldier. And the others don't even bat an eye at Paul anymore. ...However, he needs to get back to what he's doing to make sure whatever keeps on, keeps on. It makes more sense to do as much work as he can to not seem like he's in the wrong. And technically, he IS helping Tord out. In more ways than one. Paul grinned, continuing to walk. Tord glanced over at him, his breathing hitching slightly. However, he said nothing. Sometimes quiet is best. Keeps roaming eyes away, as long as there's no noise. Another thing that keeps people's business to themselves is keeping away from where soldiers usually stay and hang out. Paul led Tord down a darker hallway- one of the exits. He noticed the door was slightly ajar, and quickly shut it before anything Tord noticed, smiling and looking at the leader. "So." "So...?" Tord repeated, staring at Paul nervously, his weight shifting slightly. Still not sure if they should be down the hallway, but it didn't seem like he was thinking about it, or going to say something about it. 'Coward.' Paul sighed, moving his hands away from his back and extending it to Tord slightly. Not in an 'order' way, more of an offer. "I think we should go find out what we're needing to do here, hmm?" He chirped, his voice full of fake sweetness. Tord stared at Paul for a second, his arms straight at his side, before slowly exhaling. "Don't you know what we're doing here?" "Don't you?" Paul asked quickly in return. Of course, he'd never actually taken Tord to do work. Just somewhere quiet. Somewhere dark. Somewhere invisible to the others. Because if they can't see where Tord went, their first thought's probably just 'he's out doing work.' and not worry about it. Sometimes, the Red Army's stupid. But Tord makes sure they all stay in line without even realizing it. Just by being the leader. But that's not what interests Paul. Of course, everything usually interests him in this place. But how Tord managed to grow numb in his mind and forcefully forget everything? That's fascinating. Especially if he does it by habit by now. If it's not him doing it, then what could it be? Curious..much curious. Paul led Tord deeper in the hallway where they couldn't really see in front of them, and Tord narrowed his eyes. "Paul, seriously, what are we doing here?" "Working." Paul said again. Tord sighed through his nose, shaking his head. "No, we're not. That's obvious. A three year old could know we're not working. What are we doing here?" "Okay, fine." Paul sighed, leaning on the wall, staring at the gray walls, before looking at Tord. "We're not working." Tord crossed his arms, raising his eyebrow. Waiting on a full answer. Paul rolled his eyes, messing with the bandages on his face, before taking them off, stuffing them in his pocket. "But it shouldn't matter what we're /doing/, right?"
(continued) "But it does." Tord snapped quickly, before sighing quietly. "Sorry. But seriously, I don't like it down here. It's too...empty. There's nobody down here. It's weird. Creepy. What do you want?" Paul grinned. "Oh, you want to KNOW why we're here." "I literally just said that." Tord said, annoyance and exhaustion growing in his voice. Paul put his hands behind his back, walking around Tord, stopping behind him, grabbing his shoulders and pulling him closer, resting his chin on Tord's shoulder, feeling Tord instantly tense up. "I know." Tord, he won't remember any of this. So what's stopping Paul? Nothing. They're alone. It's dark. It's perfect. Beautiful. And yet... limited. So might as well enjoy the time while they have it!
