Mina Chan, a 26-year-old Japanese influencer and dedicated ENHYPEN fan (ENGENE), tragically passed away by su...c!d3 on August 5, 2026, after facing severe cyberbullying from corners of the K-pop fandom. The backlash began following an ENHYPEN concert in late July 2026. Mina, who was well-known within the community and frequently traveled to events, was accused by some fans of crossing boundaries. Specifically, she faced criticism for trying to pass flowers to Ni-ki through Sunoo, with critics claiming she was overly focused on getting individual recognition from the idols rather than enjoying the show.. She was a SUNSKI (Ni-ki + Sunoo) stan btw.. The online hate intensified dramatically after ENHYPEN member Ni-ki held a livestream. During the broadcast, he commented generally on fans who cross boundaries or seem more interested in being noticed than watching the performance. Though Ni-ki never named Mina or confirmed his comments were about her, toxic segments of the fandom assumed they were. Despite Mina participating in a K-pop YouTube stream to publicly apologize and express how frightened she was, the coordinated harassment, personal attacks, and de4th threats escalated. In the early hours of August 5, Mina started a livestream on TikTok from her apartment in Seoul. She was visibly distressed and crying, yet viewers reportedly continued to mock her and leave malicious comments, such as "Yea, take more p!11$" That is disgusting. It makes me lose fate in humanity. She took substances and p!11$ on the live, to numb her nerves. Eventually, Mina committed. Concerned viewers and friends contacted emergency services, but sadly, they were too late. Seoul's Yongsan Police arrived at her home at approximately 5:33 AM, where they confirmed she had passed away. The Seoul police are currently investigating the exact circumstances surrounding her death. The tragedy has sparked massive outrage and grief across the global K-pop community, renewing urgent discussions about the devastating impacts of toxic fandom culture, cyberbullying, and online harassment. Ni-ki has already apologized to her family, thinking it was his fault (which it wasn't). He has already offered to pay all fun3ral expenses. Her last words were "I'm scared... I'm scared... I wanted to live a little bit longer..." This is not a joke. Cyberbullying is real, and Mina is proof of that. It wasn't her fault, Ni-ki's fault, Sunno's fault, or ENHYPEN's fault. It was those fake, heartless, inhumane, disgusting people's fault. This was FIVE DAYS BEFORE HER BIRTHDAY btw. She was a daughter, a friend, a sister. Fly high Mina. Rest is peace. You deserved so, so much better. ~Gracy~
