INTRO Everyone cheer and clap because I'm not introducing the brand new, refined Storage Etiquette project! I'm adding onto the last version since I have a couple new things I need to adjust. This project is to help people when interacting with storage. These are to Do's and Dont's of interacting with the storage and is something I beg you to read because it makes it a much easier process for myself. This project encompasses what I would like when people interact with storage. Other storages may feel differently, but it's a basic guideline in general. COMMUNITY By this I mean someone interacting with storage for non-staff things like registering a litter, asking for exp to be split, etc. Registering Litters: Litters are registered by the host or a person given permission (that you must have proof of; a thread link will do)) to register the litter. A cat is not registered by the person who has won the cat. Litters must be registered in a certain format. Usually that format is "Namekit | @.user | 0 | 0 | 1" where you replace the name and the user and touch nothing else. Don't change the symbols in between the lines and please keep the -kit part lowercase please. Also make sure you've copy-pasted or typed the user correctly because that's very important. You also must include the link to the litter being registered at the end or I can't register it (also if your litter is clanpick please leave a comment at the top of the comment section saying which kits went where please). When the comment is sent out to register some kits and all the things in it are correct (format and having the link) they're registered right then, even if they aren't put into storage until a couple days later or even a week later. However, if you get any apt before they're actually registered, that apt will be void (I add litters first before anything so if you're registered that week and start gaining apt, you'll have that apt). Splitting EXP: There are some requirements when splitting exp: 1.) State the name, preferably full name, of your character. 2.) State how many points are going into stealth and how many are going into fighting. If you want to leave some exp in unused, say that as well. 3.) If you say "split exp evenly between stealth and fighting" also say an overflow amount like "if odd, give extra to fighting/stealth" or "if extra, leave in unused". Removing Characters: When removing a character please state the full name of your character and state that you're removing them. If they're moving to another allegiance, please say that. If your character is dying and they have unused you would want to split, you can split it yourself after I remove them. When a character is removed, I'll give you what was in storage for them, which is what I call 'final stats', even if your cat isn't necessarily dying. Removing Highrank Characters: This has an extra step. When you say you want to remove your highrank character, I need permission from the current highrank admin that you're allowed to have them willingly removed. This is void if they died in a way you couldn't control (starving, clan death, such like that). Adding a Non-litter Cat: When you're moving a cat from another allegiance I need their stats, if I need them to be aged up that week or if you've already done it yourself, and the links to the permission of the leading cat/owner that you can join and the roll to join. Asking a Question: When you ask a question, please do so respectfully and make sure you're asking in the right place. Only storage-related questions should be asked on storage as well and other, more general questions can be relocated to the OORP questions project: Questions related to other staff positions should go to this project If you need something quickly and it's very important, you can take it to my main profile , but if it isn't dire then please keep it on the storage projects. Talking on the Storage Project: Please don't comment on the storage project unless you need something of the storage. Take o7 chains to a profile or OORP chat and if you need something from someone, not me/storage, please take it to their profile or chatroom. Extra messages add clutter to my messages. You are allowed to answer any questions someone has pertaining to storage, though. If you know the answer and want to help it really helps me out. That's allowed. STAFF The staff list can be found on the Staff Studio: It should be mostly updated all the time (if it's not, just check at the projects or ask oorp chat who the new one is) and if you have questions about things such as missing apt/exp, apt/exp counting, safety, prey, mentors, companions etc. please take it to here to ask about what you need Storage doesn't handle these things. Cont.
Cont. For APT/EXP Counters: I beg that you don't use all different formats when reporting apt/exp. It makes it much harder to count. Please use a "Namepaw @.user +#, Namekit @.user +#m +#w, etc." format when reporting your exp, it really helps out a lot. FILTER ISSUES The Scratch project filter often flags many words, and I beg you to bear with us here because sometimes some cats might have to get stuck inside a project for a bit. Please try to use names that won't trigger the filter and if your scratch user might trigger the filter, please try using an alt instead in the storage so it makes it easier on storage. Also all the |V|'s you see in storage area actually M's; this is a precaution against the scratch filter since we learned long ago it likes to flag names starting with M's when they end in 6. We don't know why, but that's why I choose to just make every M a |V| forever so I don't have to deal with that problem. Also if you find out anything about a word that's been put on the scratch no-no list it would be great if you could let me and your peers know so the word won't be used in any names or anything. OUTRO Thank you for taking the time to read all this. I know it's a lot, but if you can remember these things it'll help out your experience with storage a lot and also help storage out a lot since storage is already a hard staff job to begin with. Everyone have fun!
