“He would recognize you in total darkness, were you mute and he deaf. He would recognize you in another lifetime entirely in different bodies, different times.” ― Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles →﹐ ﹒ ? Wood Patroclides﹒⟢ ── age: 17 ── fav childhood memory: first baked good. a buttery croissant amongst the wheat fields with his father and mother. wrapped in their laughter, how would he ever forget? how dehydrated he got after finishing two since his mother took a few nibbles after offering towards the courageous boy. ── personality: wood doesn't like to disappoint, he delivers when needed. depending on who you talk to, he's the man who works so hard--such brittle fingers that had to grasp the rope that was chatted around his mother's neck. if you are talking to his father, Wood is described as a good man, modest, honest, brave and passionate. If the peacekeepers, he is a hushed man and has every right to be. ── appearance: sharp features, brown-ish golden-ish hair, warm dirt eyes, tired fingers (if I haven't said that enough.), a calloused smile and a sheepish laugh if you say something about his nose ;) (ALSO HIS FC PAUL MESCAL--usually when the game starts: he'll prolly be Paul in All Us Strangers but for now you can go with the picture in the project :p ) ── likes: warm, plain bread or fresh pastries that remind him of golden wheat fields and his mother's light touch. solitude away from the watchful eyes of peacekeepers and the heavy weight of duty.a well-carved wooden handle or a smooth piece of twine that feels sturdy and real in his tired fingers. --dislike: people with soft hands who talk loud in the town square about things they've never sweated for. letting good food spoil or leaving a tool out in the wet rust. everything earned, costed something. ── backstory: Wood is a normal man. That's what he'd like to hear. After finding his mother’s dead body amongst the tree with a bag of those flaky biscuits scattered across the ground, feeding the children of tomorrow and the birds who flew against the wind. He would love to be normal. There was no way to be normal--Never again. Instead of grieving like a normal boy at the time, he continued working. He had made the terrible truth appear to him as if God was revealing himself: Men are born for the gallows. Without them there'd be none. He carried that truth--examining carven trees and writing to his mother's grave, finding truth in them. His father's sickness got worse after his mother's death. Wood's Papaw struggles for every breath due to emphysema. It's his job for these to be in order. However when the order is ransom, can he still tame something he once knew? DUNNN DUNnnn!NN!!
