The rain pelted down on my neck as Kestrel and I darted into a small fishing shop. It had a Tv, a couple racks of fishing gear, and a lot of salmon and other types of fish. The woman at the cashiers face haltered a bit, a look of surprise. But she didn't miss a beat. "What takes you here today young fellows" she said, widely beaming. The woman had a sickly looking face, she was pale, with sunken in eyes. Somehow she remained cheery with a bright smile. "What can I get you guys today! Were offering fish pastries for free today" she pitched, point at wrapped cookies in the shapes of fish, each cookie had it's own color of jam in the middle. I nodded but my mind went elsewhere. What's next. Surely not go back to our brothers house. And if we stepped foot in our own we'd be grounded for life. "Here you go! I have to step out and make a call" she said, gently placing the pastries in our hands. I quickly opened the wrap and took a giant bite out of the jam filled goodness. When the woman came back in, her smile was even brighter and I swore those teeth had never been brushed in a day of her life. "I'm Heather Poole by the way" she chirped in that oh so annoying sing songy voice. I kept my gaze on the pastries a faint sound catching my attention, Kestrel gripped her tail and shot me a look. The police. The police. We were done. It was over. She'd cornered us. Trapped us.

There was a grizzly bear who resided in Banff and Yoho national park by the name of Nakoda. She was a rare white grizzly bear which had a rare recessive gene, this meant her fur was white but not her skin or eyes. She also had two cubs, but they retained the normal grizzly bear color. Unfortunately Nakoda often got crowded by humans. She ended up dying June, 6, 2024 after getting hit on the Trans-Canada Highway. Later in the month her cubs both d!ed in separate accidents. I'd recommend reading more about this scientific phenomenon.
