Paul kept hovering behind Tord, following him. Both of them were quiet. Which was weird, since Paul usually liked keeping conversations with Tord. Usually smiling, though he never makes jokes. Just eyeing him... Fear spiked. Tord swallowed down the lump in his throat, turning his head, looking at Paul, who simply offered a slight smile. Tord didn't return it. He never did. Couldn't even force one. He just wanted to get what he had to, and then he'd be fine. He could tell Paul to leave him alone. He could tell Paul to go do something by himself, and finally get rest. Finally calm down. Finally do what he couldn't before. Why couldn't he do it? He doesn't know. Tord sighed shakily, stopping before a turn, expecting Paul to continue walking and take the lead, but instead, Paul grabbed him by the shoulders, roughly turning him down the hallway. Tord tensed, his breathing slightly quickening- then he slowly exhaled, forcing himself to calm down. "It's not far now, sir." "I know." "Great." Paul hummed, before he glanced away for a half-second, patting Tord on his shoulder. "Say, you do know the rest of the way, yes?" "Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?" Tord said, turning his head and looking at Paul, who just grinned softly. "Because, I have to go deal with something real quick, I'll meet you there." He hummed, moving one of his hands off of Tord's shoulder and putting it on Tord's cheek, turning it back forward. "I won't take long, pretty boy~" He purred, before removing his hands from Tord and turning away, walking off. Tord moved his hand towards his cheek and wiped it- quickly, glancing back behind him, watching Paul walk off, his shoulders slightly relaxing, looking forward again, continuing to walk down the hallways, stopping at the doors to the security room. The question is, should he wait for Paul, or go ahead and do the work? If he did the work...then he could just leave Paul to look for him. That would be...better than being this stressed and questioning over and over what was going on, why he was always so sore. "I'm back!" Paul chirped, one of his hands behind his back, the other one waving at Tord as he walked over, putting his other hand behind his back, smiling at Tord. "You decided to wait outside? How sweet of you...~" He chuckled softly, stepping beside Tord, keeping his hands behind his back. "Remember what we have to do? Or did you wait outside because you forgot?" "...Reset the cameras. I'm aware." Tord muttered, side-stepping, his shoulder brushing against the wall. Paul nodded. "Attaboy, you remembered." He moved one of his hands, patting Tord's head. Tord quickly grabbed Paul's wrist, moving his hand away from him. "Okay, Paul..I'm not dumb, you know." He muttered, letting Paul's wrist go. Paul just smiled, tilting his head. "I know! I wasn't calling you dumb. I was just making sure you knew." Tord stared at Paul for a few seconds, before narrowing his eyes slightly, looking away. "Vel, for en som elsker å minne meg på å gjøre ting, hvordan kan jeg glemme det?" He muttered underneath his breath, glancing at the wall, crossing his arms. "What my question is, how do you even reset the cameras?" He hummed, opening the door and walking into the room, Paul following behind. "You don't know?" He asked, eyeing Tord up and down, lowering himself to the ground, sliding something underneath a table, before standing up and walking towards the cameras. "It's quite easy, really." He smiled, walking towards the cameras, placing his hand behind it, clicking a button, causing all the cameras to go off, making the room dark, other than a dim light bulb swinging slowly above the two of them. "We have to leave it off for a few minutes." Paul said, lowering his voice, resting his hands behind his back again, looking around the room, smiling softly, looking back at Tord. "So.." He purred. "So?" Tord repeated, staring at Paul, lifting a brow. Paul looked away, letting out a low whistle. "Nothing." He said calmly, looking around the room like it was the most interesting thing ever. "What do you want, Paul? It's obvious we're still here for a reason, because while we're waiting to turn the cameras back on, we can go do the other things." Tord said, glaring at Paul, backing up a step, staring at Paul for a few seconds, before looking at the security screens. Paul exhaled slowly, nodding, looking towards the table. "Yes, we are still in here for a reason." He hummed quietly, walking towards the door, sliding the table over to it, blocking it, locking the door, grabbing something from the ground, looking back towards Tord, facing towards him, putting his hands behind his back. Tord's heart dropped, facing Paul directly, staring at his arms, backing up a step. "Paul. Paul- what did you grab?" "I just grabbed something that would help you." "And what exactly would that be?" Tord asked, staring at Paul, his breathing quickening. Paul blinked slowly. He slipped out a blowtorch, staring at Tord.
(continued) Tord stood there, his breathing hitching, looking between it and Paul, before a chuckle escaped him as he backed up another step, raising his hands slightly. "N-Now, you're not going to.. do anything.." He glanced at Paul, smiling nervously. "...Right?" Paul didn't answer. Just smiled, taking a step forward, turning the blowtorch on, releasing a warm orange color into the room. Tord backed up a step, staring at Paul. "Paul-" Tord muttered, staring at the flame. The damage a flame could do to something already burned? If Paul's planning to do what he's thinking? He wouldn't be that cruel... ... Paul took a step forward, staring at Tord, grinning more. Tord took another step, moving his robot behind him, feeling the table where the security cameras rested on, his breathing quickening, looking at the table. He could back up at least two more steps. And Paul was quite a distance from him- he quickly looked back at Paul. He had taken another step forward. "Paul, put it away." Step. "I will." Step. "Now." "It's just fire!" Step. Tord backed up, glancing at the fire. Horrid. Horrendous. Petrifying. And close. So close. He hates it. Paul stared at him, taking another step forward. "Paul, QUIT IT." He snapped, glaring at Paul in a pathetic, desperate way. This is just a prank, right? Yes. This had to just be a prank. Paul wouldn't do this. Paul wouldn't be this cruel. He couldn't be. Right? Yes, this is just a cruel, unfunny joke. Paul took another step, still staring at Tord, starting to close the small distance. "I'm doing this...for your own good, my dear.." Tord felt sick, staring at the flame, his heart pounding so loud he felt that Paul could hear it, but he quickly forced himself to lift his hand to stop Paul from getting any closer. "Now, now! Can't we talk about this-- I mean-- you wouldn't actually want to-- you wouldn't do anything- right? You-- you're not like that! We're friends! W-we're friends, rig-" Paul grabbed his wrist with his free hand, staring at him, pulling him closer. "...Don't scream, now. This isn't anything you haven't felt before." Tord's breathing hitched, staring at Paul. "Wait...PAUL, WAIT- RETHINK WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO DO-" Paul didn't let Tord finish, just covered his mouth, bringing the flame from the blowtorch towards his face, the side that was already burned, holding it there, staring at Tord, smiling. The pain that flared was horrendous. Tord wanted to push Paul, to bite him, something. But something stopped him. Something he couldn't explain. Something that made him freeze and just take it. But he couldn't just take this pain. He had to do something. The pain started getting worse. And Tord couldn't take it. Darkness started swimming at the edge of his vision. The last thing he saw was Paul smiling at him with a venom filled smile. Before everything went black. When he woke up, he was on his bed. He didn't remember what had happened. But he felt a raw, worse pain than before, slowly sitting up, running his hand through his hair, wincing slightly. His head was aching. He got up, walking to the bathroom, his eyes locking onto the mirror. Instantly, his heart dropped. He moved his hand towards his face, instantly wincing, pulling his hand away, looking at his hand, his breathing trembling, slowly exhaling, looking back towards the mirror. God, the sight was sickening. HE HATED IT. He... hated.... this.... but this was...himself. He slowly turned back around, staring at the ground. The silence in the bathroom felt wrong. Too clean. Too still. Tord could hear his own breathing, ragged and uneven, and the faint, distant hum of the building beyond the walls. His fingers curled at his sides as he tried to steady himself, but the raw ache across his face made his stomach twist all over again. No. No, no, no. This wasn't real. This was just a dream. This entire thing was just a sick dream. It had to be. This pain wasn't real. None of this was real. This couldn't be real. The world couldn't be this cruel to make him suffer again like this. It was fake. Wake up.
