The graphics were drawn using a monochrome 10-color palette. My original vision was to make the scenery visualize the music, but I quickly realized that it would be a lot of work, so I scrapped that idea and went with a single static image that I threw together. It felt way too unsatisfying to just watch a static image though, so I decided to add some animation. One thing lead to another, and before I knew it there was a whole lot of animation going on. Multiple animation techniques are used to achieve different effects. The music is Moonlight City, a brand new piece. As usual, it was made with BeepBox. Unlike the many songs I've made using using just one or two simultaneous voices, this song adds many layers of square wave tones, resulting in something slightly similar to the cacophony of car horns in large cities at rush hour. If you are curious about the design process, look inside and check the costumes in the sprite "Making of ...".
