Reshared every time I add something ^^ Okok in my fictional universe, there are spirits that together control, bless, and curse all things. Spirits do not have a true gender or a true form though every spirit has a preference to a gender and a form. I want this character to be The Spirit of The Wanderer, the protective spirit of all nomads, wayfarers, vagabonds and other travellers alike. ‘She’ guides the physically and mentally lost, without too much interference though she is one of the more interactive spirits, as most spirits prefer to watch from afar. Her altars are usually decorated with flowers like magnolia and quince, but more impoverished regions use any seasonal flowers. Imagine altars similar to those of mother Mary! Her headpiece and staff are decorated with flowers and/or plants of where she is. Spirits don’t have DNA so they can’t reproduce. This spirit has three major human forms, which are The Maiden, The Mother, and The Crone (the triple goddess, aka Persephone, Demeter, and Hecate). The form that I’m drawing now is the mother!! Different people from different places make different sorts of altars for her. The more orthodox types of the north depict her as an elder woman, carrying the wisdom of the world. The most common depiction across the lands is of her is as a mother-ly woman (the mother Mary altars are for this sect). In the south, the people go with the depiction of The Spirit of The Wanderer as a young woman, spouse to The Spirit of Hospitality and Homeliness, though it is quite rare in the north and around the capital. Alleged sightings of The Spirit of The Wanderer are common all over the lands but true worshipers know she is careful to cover her tracks and meets those in true need of guidance, rendering them forever grateful—and not boastful like the people who claim the sightings. The spirit doesn’t have feelings or emotions like a human nor does ‘she’ feel compassion for humans—she feels something close to how we see animals and feel sorry if not obliged to help because we are so much bigger and stronger. She has a higher preference to interacting with animals than humans, like all spirits. She, surprisingly, does not have a soft-spot for children though even the most wrathful spirits do—she barely visits them at all. Maybe because children do not need her help or because she doesn’t like them, but she sends her companion, a mythical grass-creature, off to guide them back home many times when they get lost in her path. WIP!! Animation: 1) A wood 2) Jagged mountains Extra Art: 1) Traditional colour pencil + watercolour sketch of The Spirit’s typical altar and statue (I’ll upload a better picture later, this one is taken with my stinky old IPad) I need to get a life who does this for a DTA let alone 8 FLIPPING BACKGROUNDS
