The title, it's way harder to understand and read without the fonts, and Scratch forced me to change the tense IG bc it was "innpapriate" idk the sensor is broken and now the grammar is butchered between present and past UGH (click to next costume) ╭────-·-ˋˏ-༻?༺-ˎˊ·-────╮ Eli (First Person POV) ╰────-·-ˋˏ-༻?༺-ˎˊ·-────╯ "Ugh, morning already?" I ask with a yawn. I turn off my blaring alarm and roll out of bed. I stretch a bit and walk to my closet, picking out a black shirt with a triangle design on it as well as some dark blue jeans. I take off my pyjamas and put on my chosen clothes. I look at myself in the mirror and let out a small huff. Seeing through the hair covering my face is easy for me, but obviously I'll gatekeep that secret forever. Under that handsome mop of hair are my eyes, which, despite speculation, are actually— "Oh dang it, I forgot I planned to meet Essie today!" I groaned, pulling out my phone to text her about rescheduling. (image one) I walked downstairs to make breakfast. I opened the fridge and poured milk into a bowl, then opened the pantry and added some cereal like the absolute psychopath I am. For some odd reason, I felt like my ancestors looked down upon me at that moment and were disappointed and deemed me a disgrace to my lineage. Odd, I wonder why I felt like that (even after I just committed a war crime and deserve to be locked up in a mental institution for such psychopathy) I was about to take a bite of the evil monstrosity I'd just created when my phone buzzed. (image 2) I let out a sigh of relief. It's a good thing Essie is so understanding. I finish the bowl of vile, vile evilness in its purest form and put it in the sink. I grab a sponge and wet it, putting a few drops of dish soap on it and washing the bowl before rinsing the suds off and putting it up to dry. I head to the shower and take my clothes off, stepping in and turning on the fauc. Freezing-coldld water splashed onto my head, and I didn't wince. As the absolute horrendous psychopath I was, I liked cold showers, and even showered in the morning. When I finished this atrocious shower at an atrocious time, yet none of it as atrocious as my breakfast, I put on some socks and sandals, an atrocious choice, and walked to the nearest supermarket. I browse the aisles and grabbed every item on my list, trying to avoid any despised social interaction. "Excuse you! Those eggs were mine!" An older woman's voice snapped angrily. Please don't be talking to me. Please don't be talking to me. Please don't be talking to me— Hello? I'm talking to you! UGH "What was that, ma'am?" I asked with a forced smile. Nooo social interaction, whyyy, I was saving my social battery! "Those eggs were mine, and you stole them!" Karen- -The woman accused. "I'm so sorry, ma'am, here you go." Steal them? There's plenty on the shelf, I mean, it's not like it has her name on it. Whatever, it's not worth an argument. "You youngsters these days, no respect, back in my day—" She said. And that's my cue to leave. I walked away with the eggs in hand and paid. I walked out of the store, seeing her still ranting with her eyes closed through the window. (image 3) I spent the rest of the time making some pixel art to finish my goobermoji dex, then left at 15:47. I walked, viewing the scenery, admiring it. I looked down when I saw others walking, saying an inaudible murmur of "Hello," or a small wave. Finally, after this indescribable torture, I neared the arcade and saw her. "Hey, Essie," I said. "Hey, Eli." She said. "Sorry for rescheduling all of a sudden," I said nervously, still feeling bad about that. "Don't worry about it. Let's have some fun!" Essie said happily as she grabbed my wrist and dragged me inside. I looked around at the flashing machines, the possible ticket ratios, cataloging which was high payout and low payout. "Right...Let's get some tokens to play-" I started, "They'll be paying!" Essie chimed in to the worker. "Wait, what? When did I ever say I was paying? This was not a transaction I was aware of—It wasn't a mutual agreement—" I sputtered. She took my wallet while I was distracted and paid the worker. The worker narrowed her eyes but didn't say anything and handed us a ton of tokens. "Wha—" I said, jaw hanging open, unable to find the words that my brain seemed to know but my tongue didn't. "Thanks, I'll pay you back," Essie said with an innocent grin. I snatched my wallet back and muttered under my breath as she dragged me to the game area. Of course she'd drag me to an obviously rigged wheel game of all the things. Looks like I'm going to be broke... "Look, if you can land the star on the handle of the wheel in the right spot, you get the prize it lands in!" Essie said. "Don't waste tokens on that! It's obviously not going to ever land in a hole—" Nevermind...She is already doing it...Great
(continued) I watch her spin the wheel and press the button to stop it, predictably failing to land it in a hole. "Right, let's head on to the next game—" Is she seriously trying again? "Eli, look! One of the prizes is a gift card! Free food for the next year!" She said, I let out an annoyed groan. "It's crazy high payout, you're never going to win!" I argued, but it didn't put a dent in her enthusiasm and she kept trying again and again. I saw her running off, making me get more. I seriously saw myself going broke in real time. "The food here is disgusting anyways! Essie stop it I'm not rich!" I had to physically drag her to another game, a basketball game. I snickered at her when she miserably missed the hoop. "You do it then," she mumbled, and I made it on the first try and got a bunch of tickets. "This game is rigged." She claimed before walking away towards another game. "Or maybe you're just not good at it." I scoffed playfully. She stopped at some weird booth-like game with a black design with spiderwebs and blood designed onto it. She moved the curtain inside and stepped into it, I did the same and we sat down on the seat in the back, facing a screen, we grabbed controllers hanging from the ceiling and inserted a few tokens and turned it on. Our characters, in first person, explored and there was a jumpscare of a spider which practically sent Essie flying backwards, I snickered at her. We ran into a gigantic spider boss and killed it, then I heard a string of music and my character turned around and I saw the spider boss and let out a undignified shriek. "KILL IT KILL IT WITH FIRE KILL IT NOW DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!" I shrieked, ignoring Essie's hysterical laughter. When we finally stepped out of the booth, my face was red. "Never tell anybody this happened." I hissed and walked to a claw machine. It looked extremely rigged. I angled up the claw regardless, pulling out a ruler to make sure it was precise. "You brought a ruler to the arcade?" Essie asked, raising an amused brow. "All a part of the plan," I murmured, carefully dropping the claw, it picked it up, carried it to the area and... Suddenly dropped it for no reason. My jaw dropped in outrage. Essie giggled and tried her own luck, failing as well. We kept trying, and the claw suddenly just got stuck and stopped right before dropping it down the cute. I kicked the machine, not hard enough to break it dent it, just shake it a bit, and the stuffed animal fell out. Which Essie then stole and mischievously said was "payback for making her reschedule." "I thought you didn't care about that!" I huffed. "I didn't until this cutie was involved!" She said happily. I scoffed as I gathered my tickets and got some candy from the ticket exchange. "Get me some!" Essie pleaded. "No way! You stole that guy, so I'm taking all the tickets." I said. We eventually parted ways and went home, I popped a lollipop into my mouth and walked home, it was late and once I got home I put pyjamas on, brushed my teeth, and lay in bed smiling. This was such a great day, I'm glad Essie and I are friends. I thought before my eyes closed and the long hands of sleep dragged me into their dark depths.
