The Kanivalos Korallion is a (partially organic) city that consumes other cities. When it has chosen a target, it appears just over the horizon. It is constantly approaching at an extremely slow pace and normally wouldn't be noticed until one day you wake up and realize that it's at your city's doorstep. When it reaches a city, it begins assimilating its mass by extending various tendrils that spread across whatever mass they make contact with. Once the entire city (and its inhabitants) have been enveloped, it begins to convert whatever it has caught into a nice tasty soup of raw material. It cannot be stopped in its advance, and any destroyed feeders (the tendrils) will just be replaced by another one. The opening that the feeders come from leads to a near infinite space that is mostly a wasteland of undigested material that has managed to restore itself into a shadow of its former self.
Every blue light that can be seen on the webbing is actually a cluster of sectors which its inhabitants reside in. Curiously, none of them seem to be in any leadership positions, so whatever is guiding them can't be a form of government. When asked about it, they'll give an entirely unrelated response. Another strange fact about the Korallionese people is that they don't have any idea about their city's nature.
