Crowz is a very important album in the history of slipknot. Crowz was made in 1997 succeeding Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat (1996) but preceding the Untitled Demo Tape (1998) 1997 was one of the major formative years for its present sound. Many lineup changes occurred including the lead vocalist/percussionist Anders Colsefni being replaced by Corey Taylor because the record label roadrunner wanted a more radio friendly sound. For a couple months Anders and Corey were actually in the band together, with anders only playing percussion. During a live show before the last song, Anders announced to the audience that he was quitting and this was his last show. Anders felt under valued and pushed aside only left to play percussion in the background. This is the last album that has any contributions from Anders. Due to the lineup changes this album includes songs by Anders and Corey.
