hiiii!!!!! let me share my awesomesauce knowledge with you <3 WHY IT'S TERRIFYING: Point Nemo is, in my opinion, absolutely horrific. There's a lot of strange activity that goes on there, not to mention the extreme isolation as "nemo" means "no one" in Latin. Furthermore, there is unexplained seisemic activity at Point Nemo, the farthest place away from all land on earth. However, no techtonic plates are known to meet there, so this "seisemic activity" is not from the shifting earth. It is either a constant malfunction in a system somewhere (highly unlikely), or an unknown entity big enough to get a reaction from radars. The weird thing about this is that NOTHING is supposed to survive in Point Nemo waters, since their composition is not suitable for life or even most mircorganisms/algea. Also, there is a common reference by sailors regarding Point Nemo, specifically refered to as "Beware the Doldrums." Doldrums are what sailors refer to as places with no wind patterns at all or where wind simply stops blowing randomly, with not even the slightest breeze. At Point Nemo, this phenomenon occurs more than often. Sailors traveling by a sailboat or with a sail-based propulsion system could get stuck here (or worse, lost and off-track) because of the obviously needed wind to guide their sails. The water is over 2.7 miles deep in places, and the seabed serves as a dumping site/graveyard for old satellites and space matter that need to be brought back to earth (satellites, spaceships, capsules, etc.), making the water unsuitable to drink due to mixed particles that sepperate from the surface of unretrieved matter (metals, rust, etc.). On the off-chance that you do get stuck out here on a boat or have an emergency, it could take days to weeks for you to be found, much less retrieved, as no ship lines run through there. Also (referring back to the Doldrums) if no wind is blowing, the water has no current and everything is still. As the wind picks back up, however, collosal waves the size of buildings are known to form, an easy tow-under for a stranded sailor. This place is genuinely terrifying and most governments don't even let you visit. TY FOR READING!! <33
