RAAAAAAAAAAH I LOVE NERO'S DAY AT DISNEYLAND I could spend the rest of my life yapping about it I literally love it so so much Lauren's music is easily my fav to listen to, I listen to her music everyday. I originally discovered it when scrolling on Tiktok and heard In Aisles and I was like "Oh wow this sounds so mysterious and cool" so I listened to the entirety of From Rotting Fantasylands and was like "Holy crap I think I found my new favorite artist" and so yeah So here's some fun facts about it: Nero's Day At Disneyland is a Breakcore/Experimental band and project made by a Trans Woman named Lauren Bousfield. The project is about modern consumerism, gender roles, crumbling society, nostalgia, and critizing capitalism and the false American Dream. There are also LGBTQ++ themes in her music too. If you want to get into NDAD, just note that her music is very loud and harsh. It's experimental after all, and also lots of sensitive topics are discussed (There are also some cuss words in some of her songs) it can be very overwhelming for some people, so if you don't want that, I don't really recommend it for you! YOU probably heard her music once or twice before. Some of her music became Animation memes. Such as Action Winter Journey, becoming the Bipolar Meme, Sprawling Idiot Effigy into the Terror meme, and Chicken and Cheese 2 (Foot Village Cover) Version 2 as Chicken and Cheese meme. Child Protective Services Theme Song is famous for being PewDiePie's old outro and The Roblox game Bear's Alpha lobby music. In Aisles has also been trending recently, being the the "Animals that talk in riddles" trend on Tiktok. The project started in 2005 with the album Attention Shoppers and ended in 2009 with From Rotting Fantasylands. Lauren then went on to produce music under her own name afterwards, becoming parts of bands and groups. Such as In-House Pharmacy and DOOR EATER. She was formally part of the bands Beautiful Mutants and Strip Mall Seizers before getting into Nero's Day At Disneyland. She also has alot, and I mean ALOT of unreleased music that sound pretty darn good. Luckily people online have compiled it into a Bootleg album you can find pretty easily on YouTube. It's called "Heaven's Gate." All of her music has very interesting metaphors in the titles and lyrics of her songs. It reminds me of The Caretaker a bit. Even if it seems like nonsense, it does make sense if we look at it in a certain way. Her sampling skills are so good too, she takes the most unrelated songs and turns them into masterpieces, mostly it's opera and choir music she samples. Her mixing and music skills are also so good because how are you making all those unique noises ON THE KEYBOARD??? RECENTLY!!!! NERO'S DAY AT DISNEYLAND IS COMING BACK!!!! I was looking around on Lauren's Social Media platforms, and she was mention something about a "Grand Reopening of Nero's Day At Disneyland" and I didn't know what it meant so I shrugged it off until I noticed THERE WAS AN OFFICAL NEW REALESE CALLED "⌀Babylon" AND I WAS SO EXCTIED!!!! And there's an upcoming EP AS WELL!!!! I'M SO HAPPY RN. The reason Lauren wanted to revive the project was because in her own words "One of the reasons for the shift is that I didn’t really want the music to involve me anymore. It seems a bit impossible to even write lyrics when things are so dysfunctional and broken. With Nero’s Day At Disneyland, there’s no Lauren. I’m just the operator of whatever machine Nero’s is. Nero’s Day At Disneyland is a way of looking at the world. It’s not a person." And I heavily agree with her, I discovered her during a time where I was too dysfunctional and sad about the collapsing world around me. NDAD easily managed to capture the feelings I had about the world I had at that time. It was exactly what I was looking for, Harsh, abstact and chaotic. And when the world was at it's lowest, she came back, it's poetic, really. Oh also of course I made an OC based around the project. The little robot critter with the Mickey Mouse hat is N3R0! (She/It/They) She is an abandoned "Handy helper" animatronic/robot. After being trapped in a warehouse for years, they woke up out of nowhere, eager and curious, they went to explore Disneyland. Only to realize the harsh reality... The other characters are OCs I made based around those artists. Doebi (She/They) - STOMACH BOOK (Deer that had a break up with her abusive boyfriend and now is out for his blood, obviously based off of BAMBI lol) Simon (He/Him) - Tally Hall (Very uninspired OC, he's just a retelling of my interpretation of Hawaii: Part II) HAZARD! (He/Him/Zap/Zapself) - Peirce The Veil (Not exactly an OC BASED around them, but more of the occupation. HAZARD! is a Rockstar who has electric powers to automatically power up his guitar, when he screams he also charges up, Vic is basially his Voice Claim)
