This is just for fun :) It's not a real story or anything, but it belongs completely to me I just felt like writing something Should I turn this into an actual story? Would you read more chapters? What should I even call the story? Enjoy! -06C
The air was cooler than usual. A breeze flew through the nearest open window. For a mid-summer's day, it's not yet supposed to feel like fall. However, in that small bedroom, it does. Sirius doesn't seem to notice the strange shift in the weather. He lies back on his bed, his earbuds in, listening to his music. His room, which he was supposed to be cleaning, is left in a state of organized chaos, his desk cluttered and clothes falling out of his dresser drawers. Sirius then sits up, looking at a dagger that sits on his bookshelf. He closes his eyes and reaches out with his mind. His subconscious buzzes as his mind picks up all of the surrounding metals. He eventually narrows his focus to one frequency, concentrating on the dagger, straining for it. *Knock, knock* Sirius jumps, his earbuds falling out of his ears. The door opens and Rune enters the room. She smiles shyly, then frowns as she sees the discarded shoes in the middle of the floor. "I thought you were cleaning?" she questions, crossing her arms. Sirius rolls his eyes, his head aching as he lays back down. "Close the door before Mrs. Powers sees." "You do know you can call her 'Mom,' right?" Sirius falls silent, pondering this. He grimaces. The thought of calling someone else his mother, especially when he doesn't know if his will return or not, feels wrong to him. He shrugs. "I will when I'm ready," Sirius murmurs. Rune narrows her eyes. She pushes her glasses up, taking in her brother's posture. With a sigh, she takes a seat in the desk chair. "You used your powers again." Rune watches him intently. "Yeah!" Sirius exclaims. "I mean, what's the point of having them if I can't even *use* them?" Rune glares. "We were told not to!" she complains. "I'm just training!" "Any luck?' Sirius glares back at his sister. They stay like that for a long moment. The clock ticks by, another breeze rushes in. Rune flinches at the coldness, but she ignores it. Finally, Sirius gives in. He looks away. "No... I still can't summon metal." "Do you remember how you did it last time?" Rune tilts her head, thinking back to when they faced that dragon. Sirius shakes his head. "Nope. I still don't have magnet hands." "You'll figure it out." Rune stands, heading back towards the door. She stops right outside and looks back at her brother. "No more powers. And clean your room." She walks out. Sirius laughs, a wide grin spreading across his face. He puts his earbuds back in. "No promises!" he calls after her, relaxing as he proceeds not to clean his bedroom.
