There are hundreds that thrive up here, dancing among the stars, swirling through dozens of nebulae and quasars. I once lived up there, along with my friends and family. How I ended up trapped on the moon... is a long story. I was born to a large family, a family of 33 (including me). Our kind is superior to the creatures down on earth. After all, we are tasked with keeping the galaxy in check. We are the supervisors, the helpers of the universe. I remember my mother describing me as 'Feathery', 'Childish', and 'Delusional' to my sisters, telling them that despite my age (I'm the oldest of my sisters & other siblings) that they were not to look up to me. My parents were never subtle with their disappointment in my behavior, neither were my many brother and sisters. I remember I was out with a few of my brothers. We were tasked with hunting down a comet. Our world up in the stars is much like Earth, but slightly more... whimsical? Magical? Comets and essence from stars actually made up various animals, much like the ones down in Earth (Our animals were the blueprints for the ones you humans know and talk about). Nebulae made up rolling mountains, the corpses of stars running down to form raging rivers and serene lakes. This comet we were suppose to kill was both needed to feed our large families, as well as stopped from colliding with your pitiful planet. Sounds like a simple task... Though it ended up being anything but. We chased that comet for many exhausting hours. We chased it from the sun, weaving in between the planets. The comet, in the form of what you know to be a lion, hurtled through the sky. "Regalia, look out!" one of my brothers roared. He was charging after the comet, and both were nearing be my the second. Me, being the naive dragonet I was, curled up into a ball. My translucent wings wrapped around my body, my orbs of light swirling around me. The comet and my brother flew past me, and straight into Earth. The two, along with Earth, exploded in a great ball of fire, debris and flames beating at my back, at my wings. It stung, it hurt, but I didn't dare move. My older brother, who was chasing the comet, was gone. Earth was gone, a project that has been worked on for decades, a masterpiece that was revered throughout my kind. My mother and father's emotions were indescribable. They yelled at me, they wept for my brother. They were ashamed, horrified. I remember their hisses of rejection, when they came into contact with the other dragons. "What are you talking about?" they would ask, eyeing me with genuine confusion, "She's not our daughter. We don't even know who she is." They disowned me, they despised me. I am an outcast, a nobody. I was put up on trail. To be honest, the whole trail was just there purely to state that the government was still there. Once my family began to rebuild earth, my sisters began to build a prison, the Moon. It took little effort to make, using some of the Earth's previous materials to build my new home. Once the Moon was complete, they flew me down. They bound me in chains, long enough for me to wander around, but short enough so I could never return to my family (Not like I have one now to return to, anyway). The moon is like a reflection of me; cold, calm, quiet, lonely. My home received no animals, or humans, or trees, or rivers, or mountains. Only empty craters from smaller comets and meteors from when the boisterous animals scarred up my home, crashing into the dusty land. Every hour I spend my time reflecting on my horrid deed, staring at the Earth. Maybe some day I'll be free... free... ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
