My pronouns are she/her and they/them, and I've been a long-term roleplayer since Generations and LEGACIES. I absolutely adore character growth, development, and giving every cat a life that feels like it was actually /lived,/ preferably one worth remembering. My previous character was Vultureslaughter of UrchinClan, son of Tortrixblight and ShatteredCrown and half-son of Sorastar. I focused heavily on developing him through his experiences, relationships, ambitions, and gradual descent into the monster he eventually became. And now I'm ready for an adventure. As soon as I laid eyes on Tempestkit, I immediately got a burst of ideas for her. There's something about her design that feels like it was practically /asking/ for a story-- one involving storms, exploration, freedom, and perhaps a little bit of trouble along the way. I've always enjoyed characters who have somewhere to /go/, rather than simply having somewhere to /be/, and Tempest is one of those characters for me. She's the daughter of the MossClan deputy. She's growing up surrounded by responsibility. And yet, somewhere beyond the familiar territories, there's a horizon waiting for her. And I have a feeling she's going to want to see what's beyond it! >:] ☽ II. ALIGNMENT: chaotic neutral RESEARCH: none ✦ FIRST IMPRESSION Tempest is a cat who seems to have been born with one paw already pointed toward the horizon. She's curious, confident, and restless, with a fascination for everything that lies beyond the familiar. Where other kits might see a puddle, Tempest sees an ocean. Where they see a fallen branch, she sees a ship. And where they see a group of friends? she sees a crew. Tempest has never needed someone to tell her what an adventure looks like. She seems perfectly capable of inventing one herself. She dreams of having a ship. She dreams of having a crew. She dreams of finding treasure, sailing across waterways, and seeing places no Clan cat has ever seen before. There's just one tiny problem. Nobody has invented piracy yet. Tempest doesn't know that, though. As far as she's concerned, being a captain sounds like an excellent idea. Even when things go wrong, she tends to keep her head and look for a way forward rather than immediately falling apart. Cont in N + C
Smart -- She's naturally observant and quick to learn, particularly when something catches her interest. Give her a problem and she'll probably spend far too long figuring out how it works. Strong -- Tempest has both physical and emotional resilience. She isn't easily discouraged, and setbacks tend to make her more determined rather than less. Reliable -- For all her adventurous tendencies, Tempest takes her promises seriously. If someone is depending on her, she wants to be the cat who shows up. Trustworthy -- She values trust immensely. Once someone has earned hers, she doesn't give them a reason to regret it. Free -- Perhaps her defining trait. Tempest hates the idea of being trapped by expectations or having her future decided for her. She wants to experience the world, make her own choices, and determine where her life takes her. [=] NEUTRAL STATE Ambitious -- Tempest doesn't dream small. Once she has an idea of what she wants, she'll pursue it with remarkable determination. Determined -- Telling her that something can't be done is an extremely effective way to make her want to do it. Motivated -- She thrives when she has something to work toward. A goal gives her direction, and she hates feeling like she's standing still. Confident -- Tempest believes in herself, sometimes more than she probably should. Failure doesn't automatically convince her that she isn't capable--it usually convinces her she needs to try again. Teamwork-oriented -- She may dream of being a captain, but she doesn't want to stand alone. Tempest understands that every great adventure needs more than one cat. Understanding -- Despite her occasional stubbornness, Tempest can be surprisingly good at understanding where other cats are coming from. She doesn't always agree with them, but she wants to know why. Strategic -- Her adventurous nature doesn't mean she's incapable of planning. Tempest enjoys thinking several steps ahead and figuring out how all the pieces fit together. [-] NEGATIVE TRAITS Snide -- Tempest has a sharp tongue and isn't afraid to use it, particularly when she feels someone is being unnecessarily restrictive. Sarcastic -- When frustrated, sarcasm becomes one of her favorite defenses. Sometimes she uses it playfully. Sometimes she uses it specifically because she knows it'll annoy someone. Cruel -- Tempest is capable of being genuinely harsh when pushed too far. Her confidence and determination can make it easy for her to forget that other cats have limits too. Pushes everyone too hard -- This may become one of her biggest flaws as she grows. Tempest expects a lot from herself, and sometimes assumes everyone else should be capable of the same. She can push her friends, her teammates, and eventually her crew far beyond what they're comfortable with. Greedy -- Tempest has a weakness for anything she considers valuable--whether that's treasure, opportunities, knowledge, or simply getting what she wants. She doesn't always know when she's taken enough. ≋ ◖❝ And kills me when she cries. ❞◗ ≋ ☾ IV. WINDS & WATERS ☽ ≋ ◖❝ Woah, wont let go.. No…~ ❞◗ ≋ ⚓ Tempest has never been content with simply knowing what is in front of her. She wants to know what's past it. What's beyond the territory? What's on the other side of the river? How far does the world actually go? And, perhaps most importantly, What could she become if nobody told her what she was supposed to be? HER ANCHOR Tempest may be fascinated by the unknown, but she isn't without something to hold onto. She cares deeply about the cats around her, and despite her restless nature, she doesn't want freedom to mean being completely alone. In fact, one of the things she dreams about most is having a crew -- cats she trusts enough to share her adventures with. To Tempest, companionship isn't a chain. It's an anchor. Something that keeps you grounded without keeping you trapped. HER CURRENT Freedom is one of Tempest's strongest motivations. She doesn't necessarily dislike MossClan. She isn't desperately waiting for an excuse to abandon everything she's ever known. She simply looks at the world around her and thinks: “Surely there's more than this.” The familiar is comforting, but the unfamiliar is exciting. Tempest wants to make her own decisions, follow her own path, and experience things for herself rather than being told what the world is like. If there's a road nobody has travelled yet, she'll want to know where it leads. If there's a place nobody has explored, she'll want to see it. And if someone tells her it can't be done? Well.
