toby fox and the DELTARUNE team for the orignal scene some guy named radiasymart for putting every sprite into a google drive folder anyways.. this is for a school assignment. i'm supposed to use loops and stuff, and OH BOY. DID I. lets start off with the simple stuff. the text engine that shows dialogue is a custom block(which basically is a block that allows you to program itself, so you don’t have to repeat large blocks of code.), it pulls from a list of text to see what will be displayed. if the first and last letters of the text are less/greater than signs, then it broadcasts that event. For example, if the current line of text is "<TEXT>" then it will broadast the event "<TEXT>” (not including the “”). otherwise, it displays the variable, and updates it, letter by letter. each time it updates a letter, it checks to see if that line has a sound assigned to it. If it does, then it THEN checks to see if the newest character is a punctation mark, including spaces. if it is, it doesn’t play the assignged sound. otherwise it does. this then is put into a another loop, usualy a repeat until <true> loop. Next, the toriel (goat lady in the chair) sprite. it has two forever loops: one that uses the fisheye effect to make it look like she’s breathing. there's another loop that shows her when the backdrop isn’t called black, that a lot of sprites have, like three or four, so i’m only going to mention it once. all the other loops can be summed up simply: most sprites have a object variable called “anim(mation)index”. the loop is simple. before the loop, it set’s animindex to 0. nested in the repeat (x) loop is three blocks: set costume to join(animation name)(animindex), change animindex by (x), and wait (x) seconds.whenever there’s an animation, like susie (the dinosaur) running, or the knight’s roar, it’s usually that line of code. besides that, the only other loops are the forever loops found in the backdrop sprite that play music. i think this covers, like, everything if you look in the project. for my classmates, i did WAYY too much. if you've never done this before, it WILL look like shadow magic. so ask, lol
