Of course, you can determine what functions the "Search hand" can do - either as a second hand, or as an alarm hand - but the hand only points to 30-minute intervals. A new feature added to this clock is a "Flip-the-clock" feature. This clock is double-sided, and you can now flip the clock by hitting the spacebar.
