( Taking off of humans more then cats, but it's the same general idea. If you want me to change it to focus on cats please tell me so + anything else needed ) Gigantism: Gigantism is a rare condition when someone has an excessive amount of growth hormones inside of them as a child. Growth Hormones, or GH, are used to help the body grow and maintain structure with bones and parts of the body (simple enough), but with Gigantism the body grows the tissues and bones a lot. The extra GH is a sign of a tumor in the Pituitary gland, which is where GH is released from. Gigantism is not Acromegaly, instead showing up when the person is a child. This condition effects their growth plates before they fuse. Symptoms can be some of the following: - A lot of sweating - Headaches and Joint pains - Muscle weakness - Trouble sleeping Those with Gigantism have a higher death rate if left untreated [ Well we're cats- we don't have that insane stuff ]. People with Gigantism suffer from: - Mobility issues because of muscle weakness - Osteoarthritis (a type of arthritis) - Enlarged hearts - Peripheral Neuropathy (Spinal cord issues) Basically you get taller/bigger from a tumor and have a buncha ''fun'' health issues to deal with alongside it :P People with this can grow up to like, 8 feet :o Dwarfism: Dwarfism makes you short... (simple) it results from a genetic or medical condition. There are two main types of Dwarfism, Disproportionate and Proportionate Dwarfism. Disproportionate Dwarfism causes some parts of the body to become smaller while others stay a normal size, and Proportionate Dwarfism makes it so that all the parts of the body are small. The kit for this litter has Proportionate Dwarfism, which will make them shorter and delay their little amount of growth. Causes for Dwarfism usually result from gene changes, usually randomly given but can be inherited from parents. Organs also have a hard time growing in this state.
