— ROLEPLAY UPDATE Hello everyone! I wanted to give a proper update regarding the roleplay and where things currently stand. As some of you know, activity and management have been relatively quiet for a while due to my schedule and lack of free time. However, I am happy to say that I am slowly beginning to make my way back. This will not be an immediate, overnight return to everything being fully active again - but rather a gradual process of rebuilding, organizing, and hopefully bringing some energy back into the community. I genuinely do not want to see this project disappear or lose the community we have built, and I would love to slowly begin giving Eldritch the attention it deserves again. — CURRENT CLAN ADMIN CHECK-IN I would also like to ask the current clan Admin/Admin helpers(s) to please check in with me regarding the project and the current state of things when possible. I would love to hear where everything currently stands, what has been happening while I've been away, and what you believe needs attention moving forward. Your help and involvement in keeping things running is greatly appreciated, and I would like to work together as we begin figuring out the next steps for the roleplay. — WHAT TO EXPECT GOING FORWARD Below are some of the changes, projects, and additions I would like to begin implementing: 1. Slight changes to the apprentice training system - The apprentice training system itself will remain mostly the same in terms of how it functions. However, training lessons will no longer be *required*. - Instead, I would like to make training something that players *want* to participate in rather than something they feel forced to complete. - When an apprentice completes a training lesson, they will receive rewards or other incentives for their participation. This could include Lumen, items, special rewards, achievements, ect. - Apprentice ages and the amount of time characters spend as apprentices will remain the same. This change is only intended to make the training system more flexible for people who want a chill experience and rewarding for those who want that challenge. 2. Mentor "salary" system - Mentors will have the opportunity to earn a paycheck for actively doing their job! - If your character has consistently served as a mentor for multiple weeks/moons and has actively participated in training their apprentice(s), they may receive a reward or "salary" for their work. - However, this will require proof that the mentor has actually been active and assisting with training. Simply holding the mentor role without participating will not qualify. - The goal is to reward characters and players who actively put time and effort into helping apprentices develop. 3. The Lumen Shop - The Lumen Shop will hopefully be opening soon! - This will give players more opportunities to spend the currency they earn throughout the roleplay. More information regarding available items, prices, and ways to earn Lumen will be released once the system is finalized. 4. Eldritch creature visuals - A (few) member(s) may potentially be working on creating images and visuals for some of the creatures within Eldritch! - This would help bring more personality and visual identity to the creatures and world surrounding the roleplay. I think having official visuals could make the lore and creatures feel more alive and give everyone a better idea of what exists within the world. 5. Earning rewards - I would like to introduce more opportunities for players to earn Lumen, items, or special rewards simply by participating in the community. * Completing small character or community challenges. * Creating lore-related content. * Participating in creature encounters or discoveries. * Helping contribute to the community and activity. * Reaching certain activity milestones. - The goal is to make participation feel rewarding without making the roleplay feel like a chore or a game you *have* to constantly grind. 6. Events and community activity - I would also like to slowly bring in more events, prompts, and things for characters to actually do together. - This could include: * Seasonal events. * Clan-wide gatherings. * Mini plotlines. * Creature encounters. * Randomized events. * Community challenges. * Character-focused prompts. * Limited-time rewards. - I believe one of the biggest ways to bring energy back is simply giving people reasons to interact and create stories together.
— A FEW MORE IDEAS FOR THE FUTURE This is a spot for any ideas that you as a community may have! Community Ideas: - - - — THE GOAL More than anything, I want to slowly bring the energy back. I don't expect everything to immediately become insanely active, and I understand rebuilding/starting takes time. But I would rather slowly work toward creating something active, enjoyable, and exciting again than allow the project to quietly fade away. I want Eldritch to feel like a place where people genuinely want to create characters, develop stories, interact with others, and participate not because they are required to, but because there are always interesting things happening. After all, it is a magical world! This is only the beginning of what I hope will be a gradual return. I would absolutely love to hear everyone's thoughts, ideas, and suggestions as we begin figuring out where Eldritch goes from here. Thank you to everyone who has stayed, supported the project, and continued to care about it. Here's to hopefully bringing Eldritch back to life.
