She was happy again. And it was all thanks to her sister. Flame hadn't felt so happy in moons and she smiled at Annuletfire. It had been a long time since Flame had really socialized. She hadn't even realized how distant she was drifting. Clearly her sister had noticed, but at least they were fixing it now. Because now was all that mattered in the world. Because Annulet was her missing piece. Her older sister. Her other half. Until Annulet's amber eyes widened in fear and her head snapped in the direction of a sound Flame hadn't heard. But a moment later she could see it. A dark shape flashed in front of the cats, and she heard her sister yell something at her. Suddenly, Annulet's paws shoved her into the ground. Why would she do that? What was happening? The black shape pounced at them just then, narrowly missing her snout and she relaxed in relief that she had narrowly avoided the attack. Though that was short-lived. She scrambled up quickly, to see her sister on her back and clawing wildly at the wolf. Annulet was pinned. Flame's eyes flashed with fear. Why was it here? Why now? And what would it do to them? "NO!" she screamed, leaping on to the wolf's back and biting down as hard as she could, sinking her claws as deep as they would go. The wolf reared back attempting to throw her off. She saw Ann claw at the wolf's face. Maybe if she could blind it or something. It'd run away and they'd be safe! Suddenly the wolf reared up. Something she hadn't anticipated, making Flame lose her grip and she got sent flying into a nearby tree. She crashed against it and time seemed to slow as she sped toward the ground. There was no way she could survive that fall. Her life flashed before her eyes. Literally. Everything she'd ever done. Every friend she'd ever made. Every piece of knowledge she'd ever learned. Suddenly it was completely overwhelming her mind. And Flamethunder found peace in those memories. The memories grew more lonely. More dark, as she grew older, until they were replaced with one last happy memory. Two sisters, apprentices, happily giggling as they pranced through a forest. Two sisters, now warrior aged, walking another path as they found happiness simply in the other's presence. And suddenly her mind was clear. Her vision was back with perfect clarity right as she was about to die And then she saw her. Annulet's eyes widened in fear for her sister, completely distracted by her. The horrible gash on her sister's side. There was no way she could survive blood loss like that. The wolf raised his paw for one last fatal blow at Annulet. Flame wanted to scream, but suddenly the ground caught up with her and she landed with a sickening thud. Darkness enveloped her. Her ancestors welcomed her. Death was here. But she wasn't afraid. Because her missing piece would be joining her soon. And even if she hadn't lived as long as she wanted or done much with her life, all she needed was Annulet. And as long as she was with her sister, she was happy. - - - [ Annuletfire's Prespective: ] Final Stats: Flamethunder | 0/0 | 3 | 24 - - - Credits: Written By - Edited by - Story by & Cover Art by - - -
