Blurred out my author name on the cover. Just if you're wondering what that purple is, it's the block. This book is gonna be really emotional and I can't wait to keep writing it: Cassian smiles, but his eyes are sad. “Well, let’s get you a place to sleep, shall we?” I turn as he walks past me, picking up some stray fabrics that got knocked over. “So that’s it?” I demand. “You don’t even care?” “Of course I care. But what am I going to do about it right now? Complain? It’s not going to do anything.” He heads for the stairs in the back. “Come on, I have a couch you can settle down on.” “You can still try to show some emotion!” I follow him. “Cry, scream, anything! Something that shows you care.” “There’s no point. If I spent my life crying and screaming, I’d never get anywhere.” “No point?” I slow to a stop. “No point in letting yourself be a little bit weak? No point in letting yourself feel something? No point in being human?” I step closer. “I’m not human, and if I found out I’d die, I would cry. I would scream, I would throw a tantrum, because it’s normal to feel that way.” He turns to me. “But you can’t die. You’re an Immortal Anyshape.” “Yes, I can.” I whisper. “I can die, I just don’t show the way. There is a way to hurt me, I just keep it hidden. It’s the only way I’ve survived.” “You don’t think I cry?” I murmur. “I cry almost every night. Because I’ve lost people. My friends, my family, I’ve outlived people I care about, my only kind lost their minds. You think that doesn’t hurt?” “It hurts so bloody much. You’re allowed to cry. You’re allowed to break down and show weakness.” “Hm.” He murmurs, turning away and walking up the steps. I let out a soft sight through my nose. /He’s not listening./ I reluctantly follow him, watching as he tosses a few pillows and blankets onto the couch, creating a comfy spot. After, he passes me by with a smile. “Stay here as many nights as you need.” He murmurs, heading to the closed door across the hall from the living room he set me up in. He disappears into the bedroom, and my shoulders drop.
