Chapter 5: Gaming and Truth Zelda's PoV; "So, what'd you want to tell me about?" Link asked as he knocked me off the screen in Super Smash Bros. for the 5th time, hitting the stock limit and winning the match. Link was surprisingly good at video games. "And why didn't you want to tell me?" Crap. Why did I ever bring it up? I quickly snuck a glance at the staircase to see if my parents had come down to the basement. Link noticed me look that way and smiled. "Wh-What?" I asked, turning red. Link chuckled. "I knew it!" he laughed. "How do you catch on that quickly?" I whispered. He chuckled again. "Did I make it that obvious?" I said, turning more red. "Sorry Zel." Link quickly said. "I didn't mean to, well.." This time, I laughed. Link took this time to throw me off the stage in Super Smash. I wheeled on him. "So that was your strategy all along?" I joked. "Okay, maybe that was a little cruel." Link said. I frowned, realizing something. "Link, why did you always treat me like I just liked you as a friend when you knew I, well,-" "Liked me? Because I didn't want our parents making a big deal. And I didn't want to deflect embarrassment off of me, I knew you would hate it, too." Link said. "And the truth is,-" "Link! your dad's here!" I heard my mom yell. "Sorry Zel. I gotta go." Link said, kissing me on the forehead gently. Woah. That was unexpected. By the time I managed to get words out of my mouth, Link was gone.
