Chapter 6: Grief Zelda's PoV: "Just drop your shoulders and point." Link said. He had convinced me to join Boy Scouts with me, and was now helping me practice using a bow. This was 1 year after we were in 5th grade. 1 year after we went to the treehouse every day. 1 year after Link kissed me. We had kind of moved on, but still had a different relationship. "Like this?" I asked, as I fired an arrow. It hit the bull's eye. "Yes! That was perfect!" Link shouted. He had been a natural when it came to this stuff. I was still learning, but Link always told me I was doing better than he did. Middle school had been hard, and we didn't get to see each other as much. My dad picked me up at the end of the meeting, and drove me home. "Where's Mom?" I asked, as we pulled into the driveway. Dad didn't answer. "Zelda, I need to talk to you about something." Dad said when we got inside. "Your mother-" "D-Did something happen to Mom?" I asked. "S-She's frozen, honey." I sighed, relieved. "You had me worried there, Dad. Why is she frozen?" Dad looked sad. "I-I don't know, but she was in her car when it happened. She froze, but her car did not. It kept going, and ran down a hill. The doctors assumed she suffered many internal injuries." "A-Are you saying she's d-d-" Dad sighed. "I'm sorry, honey. She'll always be watching you in heaven, and is very proud of you." He said, kissing my forehead. "Stop! Why are you talking like that?" I yelled, backing away from him. "Dad, you're gonna feel so dumb when Mom wakes up and she's fine and we're gonna laugh about this whole thing and-" Tears were filling my eyes. I wanted to believe Mom would be okay, but it seemed impossible that she'd survive. I ran outside and into Link's yard, to the spot he liked to sit when it was late. "Zelda?" I ran to him and wrapped my arms around him. "M-My Mom's gone." I whispered, sobbing. He wrapped his arms around me. "It's okay, it's okay." He whispered, kissing my forehead. I grabbed his hand and held it tightly. I didn't care if Dad saw me. In that moment, all that mattered to me was that I was with Link, and that's all that mattered to him.
Hope you like it! (I know 3 chapters in 1 day is a lot, but I needed to do it!) Chapter 7: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1379425695
