This is Nex they were a nonbinary 16-year-old student in California who was KILLED in a high school bathroom for how they were dressed. This is what the world is coming to. People are dying for how they are dressed, and being queer. There is no reason for someone to DIE because you don't like how they dress/identify. I don't care who/what you are, remix to spread the word on this. this is NOT right. SAY THEIR NAME
I remixed this project without researching first. However, now that I have researched it has come to my attention that Nex Benedict used they/them and he/him pronouns, he had been bullied an entire year leading up to the attack from his bullies in a restroom. However, he did not pass away there, he went home, and in his room collapsed and was later pronounced d3ad. I know that I should've probably researched way long before reposting, and I hope you can forgive my ignorance, but please spread the message, make sure people are aware of the harm that assaulting people causes, and how some kids nowadays attack their fellow peers just because of how they identify. This is serious, and I will not stand for this. I don't care if you joke around with "jumping someone after school" it isn't funny, it never was, and it never will be. Regardless of how someone dresses, acts, or identifies, attacking will never be okay. (P.S. A police officer had encouraged Nex's parents to not file a report, and prosecutors are refusing to push the case. See how adults can easily dismiss the fatality of a child? Yeah. That would've most likely been different if Nex hadn't been non-binary.)
