In 2006, Chinese company Hogma Toys Industrial Ltd. released a chinafake Rock 'n Roll Uniqua toy from The Backyardigans under the name 'The Backyard Gang - Rockin' Penguin'. The head mold is copied from Fisher-Price's Sing and Spin Pablo, and the outfit of the toy can either have the outfit of the 1999 Tyco Sesame Street Rock 'n Roll Elmo, or the outfit of the 2000 Fisher-Price Rock 'n Roll Ernie. Also, sometimes the pants can either be blue, or black. The doll swings it's head side to side and moves it's arm up and down on the guitar while vibrating to the song 'This Is How We Do It' by Soild Base, but slowed down to sound masculine. Other versions of the toy is also known to play 'Crazy Toy Song' by Crazy Frog, Collision of Worlds by Brad Paisley and Robbie Williams, 'Try Everything' by Shakira, 'The Chicken Dance' from the dancing duck, or 'We're Going to Ibiza' by Vengaboys. Other variants exit of this toy exist: A Tyrone variant is used under the name 'The Backyard Gang - Rockin' Moose'. A Uniqua variant is used under the name 'The Backyard Gang - Rockin' Alien' (despite Uniqua having a fictional species) A Tasha variant is used under the name 'The Backyard Gang - Rockin' Hippo' A Austin variant is used under the name 'The Backyard Gang - Rockin' Kangaroo'
Thanks to paco2026 for the original Chinafake Rock 'n Roll Pablo project.
