Instantly, Patryk turned his attention back over to Paul, though he was talking to both Yuu and the second in command. Paul was watching Tord leave. He always does. Patryk hates it though. He cleared his throat loudly, and saw the way Paul glanced back over, lifting a brow. "Sorry." Patryk said simply, narrowing his eyes. Paul stared at him for a second, crossing his arms over his chest. "So?" He asked. "So.." Yuu echoed, glancing over at Patryk as well, feeling the tension in the room. "I don't know." Patryk admitted, looking at the ground pathetically. Paul scoffed. "How could /you/ not know? You're the head soldier!" He snapped. Patryk glared up at Paul. "And /you're/ the second in command. You'd think that you'd know, since you like spending so much damn time with him." Paul stared at Patryk for a moment, opening his mouth, but nothing came out and he just rolled his eyes, looking away, muttering something under his breath. Patryk stared back at him, before exhaling slowly, looking away. "If you're expecting an apology for that, you're not going to get it-" "I'm not expecting or waiting for /anything/ from you, sir." Paul snapped, glaring at the soldier. Yuu stood there, exhaling slowly, before clapping his hands together, and Patryk and Paul instantly turned his attention to the soldier. "Look, if we're going to take anymore time on this, Red's going to get more upset than he is now, and then it'll turn into an entire thing." He pointed out. "Well I'd be glad to go make sure he's doing work." Paul said, grinning, already turning around, but Patryk grabbed him roughly, turning him back towards Yuu. "NO." He growled, glaring at Paul. "For once, can you just trust him that he'll do his work instead of following behind him like a DOG and barking orders for him to follow you? He's the leader! He'll get to it when he gets to it!" Paul pulled his hand back to him, glaring at Patryk. "What is your issue with me today?!" He demanded. Patryk stared at him for a second, before his gaze slightly softened. "I..." he swallowed. Paul stared at him, before glancing at Yuu slightly, who was just crossing his arms and waiting patiently for the two of them to stop fighting, sighing quietly, taking out a clipboard and writing on it. He glanced back over at Patryk, raising a brow. Patryk stared back at him. He knew what he wanted to say, but he couldn't say it. Paul narrowed his eyes for a second before pausing. "What?" "Just go." Patryk muttered, exhaling slowly. "I'll have Yuu do it and I'll help." He said, staring at Paul, his gaze hollow. Paul stood there for a moment, before grinning. "Gladly." He said, turning on his heel and walking off. Patryk watched him, before exhaling slowly, turning towards Yuu. "Now you." Yuu glanced at him, his gaze going soft, staying firm, at the ready to walk. Awaiting orders. Patryk stared at him for a moment, then sighed, turning, mentioning for him to follow, walking off. Yuu started following instantly. "Where are we going?" He asked. "You know where." Patryk muttered, closing his eyes for a second, before continuing to walk. He heard Yuu's breathing hitch, just slightly, before he sighed. "Are you sure you don't want me to--" "Go with Paul? No...I'm not doing this by myself." Yuu muttered something in Norsk, looking away, placing his hands behind his back. Patryk continued walking, his gaze flickering towards the walls. He never liked it when the army was this quiet. Then again, they're outside. Training. Waiting for a war that Patryk hopes would never happen. The quietness was taunting him. Screaming. Cracking fragile glass. Each step was just another risk. Another crack. Until it shatters. It's just a limited amount of time. Until everyone's... "PATRYK." Paul exclaimed, rushing towards him. Patryk stopped, his breathing hitching. "What? What happened?" He asked, his tone growing worried until he paused, clearing his throat, crossing his arms. He doesn't care. He's not supposed to care. He's just supposed to get what he has done. If something is wrong, Paul can deal with it. He needs to learn how to be more mature. He's older. He's the second in command. If there's something he can't do, he shouldn't always go running to Tord or Patryk, hell, other soldiers might want to help. There's nothing that Paul could say that makes Patryk suddenly give a damn. "It's Tord." With that one line, Patryk's body went rigid, and he looked at Paul. Paul doesn't worry about Tord enough to say anything about him to the others. Paul doesn't care enough. Not like... Patryk stood there. "So?" He hummed. Paul stood there, staring at the soldier. "You can't be serious." "/You/ can't be serious. You're coming up to me because something's wrong with Tord? You're the second in command. If there's something wrong with the leader, you should be ready to step in and deal with it." Patryk continued, taking a step closer to Paul, who backed up, staring at Patryk. "No- sir, you don't get it-"
(continued) "And what about it don't I get?" Patryk demanded, glaring at Paul. Paul stood there, staring at Patryk like he wanted to punch him, before he sighed. "He's not..." He stopped, hesitating. Patryk stared at Paul quietly, narrowing his eyes. "Never mind. It's not important. You wouldn't care." "You're right! I wouldn't!" Patryk scoffed. "It's not important! If it's really that bad, then you can deal with it! Act more mature!" Paul stood there. "He's..." "He's what?" Patryk challenged, lifting a brow. Yuu took a step between the two soldiers, pushing them both backwards, giving them both space between each other. Patryk glanced at Yuu for a second, before turning his attention back towards Paul. "He's bIeeding. In his office." Patryk stopped, his eyes widening slightly. "What?" "You heard me." Paul said, glaring at Patryk, crossing his arms. Yuu glanced at Paul for a second, concern in his expression, before he looked at Patryk. "Sir, should I--" "Yes..yes, you do that." Patryk muttered, nodding at Yuu, his eyes still locked on Paul. Yuu nodded, turning and walking off. Patryk's gaze softened slightly, staring at Paul, the worry and guilt gnawing at him. "What happened?" He asked. ... 'I should've pried a little more. I should've kept by his side. I should've kept worrying about him instead of telling myself that I don't care.' 'This is my fault.'
