LSP is Lesbian Space Princess. I plan to unshare this project sooner or later because it mentions more serious topics that some people may not be comfortable with. Don't expect this to stay up for a while ________________________ Genuinely I deeply DEEPLY despise it, so here are my reasons as to why I dislike the movie so much Cringe happens a lot in shows, movies, and etc. You cant really escape it at this point, it is EVERYWHERE. And yes I've seen lots of people saying it's cringe, but that is not my complete reason as to why I really dislike the movie. I will be sectioning my reasons off here, so prepare for a longg explanation. 1: Transphobia / Use of the Labrys flag The Labrys flag was one of the first lesbian flags made by a gay man who used (certain German soldier from the 1940s) imagery. It also excludes trans people, which is known as TERF. The main character references the symbol a lot throughout the movie. It means a feminist who hates trans people. Since this is supposed to be an inclusive movie, it was really disappointing to see that there were next to no trans representation. The only representation we got was a drag queen who is also a villain. The whole show acts like trans people simply don't exist, and instead play it off as men dressing up as women, or women dressing up as men. Which is WAY OFF of what being trans actually means. As someone who is trans I do NOT take transphobia lightly. 2: It uses hasty generalization and stereotypes In case you are unaware, a hasty generalization is someone making up an exaggerated and/or informal view of someone or something based on little information. It also names the whole setting (town names, etc) off of certain parts of the female body. Literally, EVERYTHING is named after them in some way. Which makes it sound like being lesbian is all about those certain parts of the feminine body. The main characters whole life is also based off of the old lesbian flag that I mentioned above, which is also a hasty generalization in some way/shape/form. Along with the fact that her axe is literally BASED OFF OF the symbol shown in the flag. Also this is just something that I've noticed, I don't know if other people have seen this as well, but I feel like the whole movie was made to have all these characters be insufferable to MAKE people hate them, and have people like the straight white maliens for example because they are the least insufferable. This might be trying to get people to further spread hate using stereotypes and hasty generalizations. 3: The "straight white maliens" Really, that was your idea for the fellow villains of the entire film? Three white rectangles with faces going around calling themselves the "straight while maliens" dude? You make all the characters in the entire movie unsufferable, yet the only logical ones here are the said villains of the entire film. I feel like the only reason why I continued to watch that absolute dumpster fire of a movie was because the maliens genuinely carried the entire film. Though like I said above about trying to make certain characters insufferable, and what not, they don't entirely deserve praise either. Not like the entire movie alone should be receiving any praise at all. Because genuinely I was able to live without this mess, and I am better off with it not being a thing or a thought once more. __________________________ Overall, the entire show makes gay, lesbian, trans, and straight people look bad. And originally I thought that the show was created by random people who wished the criticize certain minorities, but it just got even worse when I learned that both the creators and co-creators of the movie were also lesbian. Which makes this entire thing confusing when I began to wonder how the heck they messed up the entire film so badly. They were also fully aware of what they were doing, they KNEW what the labrys meant, yet still included it anyway. They KNEW what they were doing, and had no shame when doing it. Which has only made me dislike the entire film even more. _____________________________ I have no hate or judge towards people who are lesbian, gay, trans, straight, bi, and etc. I believe everyone in the LQBTQ+ community deserves their own praise. LSP just did a really terrible job at doing that, and only added 15 more cherries on top with the transphobia, and stereotypes. When seeing people who genuinely enjoy the film, and support what is happening in it, it legit makes me want to jump off a bridge and bury myself alive. I was left disappointed today when I saw someone I once knew support the film, which is something I took high offense to. If you know who this said person is though, don't go out of your way to harass them. As it would only cause more issues that I really don't want to deal with.
IF I CATCH SOMEONE GENUINELY LIKING THE FILM FOR WHAT IT IS, I DARE EITHER BLOCK OR JUDGE YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR CARRER BECAUSE I WILL INSTANTLY ASSUME YOU ARE TRANSPHOBIC, A NEO-(1940 German soldier), AND/OR SOMEONE WHO SUPPORTS BAD STEREOTYPES. I AM NOT SORRY WHATSOEVER, AND I MEAN EVERYTHING THAT I SAID.
