Chapter 1: The Boy Time Forgot The Great Deku Tree had told me the only Hylians ever to have wound up in the forest were forgotten by the world and for them, time never moved. That didn't make sense, but the koroks DID never age. Sometimes I wonder what my life was before I came to the forest. When we found that girl unconscious, I thought of this again. "Hmm... How did she get here?" the Great Deku Tree had asked. None of us knew. We gathered around the girl as she woke up. She was about my age, and had big, beautiful eyes. "W-Where am I ?!?" She asked. "What happened? I can't remember anything!" "Slow down," I said. "Who are you? How did you get here?" The girl settled down. "I'm Zelda. I have no idea how I got here, or who I really am. I don't remember anything!" "Just like me." I said to myself. I felt a stab of familiarity as I looked at her. But that was impossible. I'd never met her. Had I? "I'm Link. maybe you're like me. The same thing happened when I got here." I said, giving her a warm smile. "We're in the Korok Forest, the Kingdom of the Great Deku Tree." "And who are these?" Zelda asked, pointing to the Koroks behind me. "These are my friends, Saige, Bowen, Leighton, Kylan, Amelie, and Makar. They're Koroks." I answered. "And you don't remember what happened to you at all? How long have you been here?" Zelda asked. "Nope. And I've counted 1,800 sunsets from this forest." Zelda gaped. "That's almost 5 years! Do you age at all?" "Nope." "Fascinating! Sorry, I'm a bit curious." I smiled. "It's fine. I don't mind at all. It's just nice to see another Hylian in the forest, even if it's difficult at first for you." I stared off into the distance. "Is something wrong?" Zelda asked. "N-N. It's just, The Great Deku Tree told me that the world forgets those who get found lost in the forest. Nobody remembers or can see the Koroks, except us and The Deku Tree. What If I'm just a boy Time forgot? What if the world forgets you? What if we had lives that mattered more than being someone who literally lives in the woods and survives in any way we can? As the forest is starting to get more dangerous, what if we just stay here forever?" I sighed. "Sorry, that's a lot to comprehend." I said. Zelda smiled. "N-no, it's helping me a lot. Thank you." I blushed. "W-well, I didn't do anything special...I just wanted this to be easier on you than it was for me." I hadn't thought of any of this until Zelda appeared. Now that she was here, I thought about the life I had. Now I wanted to know who I was, and If I could get it back. I wanted Time to remember me.
