Chapter 2: Fighting "When you said that the forest was in danger, what do you mean?" Zelda asked me. "Monsters have been finding ways in. They usually aren't intelligent enough to get in, but the ones who managed to get in were by accident. Now, It's actually a threat." As if right on cue, Four Moblins lunged at me from behind. "Link! Behind you!" I wheeled around and whipped out my sword. It was made and reinforced with wood, and it was given to me by the Koroks on my "first birthday" here. For a wooden sword, it was surprisingly strong. I stabbed one of them in the leg, causing it to fall back and take out another Moblin. As I handled the third one, Zelda grabbed a tree branch and handled the last one. She jabbed the tree branch into his arm, loosening the grip he had on his club. She finished hers off as I totaled mine. "You okay?" she asked. "Yeah. You? Nice swings by the way" "I'm fine, thanks. Is this common?" "Pretty much, at this point." I heared footsteps from the woods. Seconds later, a Lynel charged out from the trees. "Crap. I hate these guys." I muttered. I ducked as the Lynel swung his weapon, striking him upward in the head. It staggered back and growled as it shot a flame from its mouth. I tried to block as much as possible with my shield, but it was no use. It burned up and burnt my arm as the forest caught fire. I didn't know what to do. The only way of escape was blocked by a Lynel and a wall of fire. So I ran to The Great Deku Tree with Zelda following me. Fire had already spread, though. By the time we reached The Great Deku Tree, fire was surrounding him. I quickly scooped up some dirt in an attempt to stamp out the fire. Most of the fire started to die out, and I continued to try to save the Deku Tree. At last, the fire completely died out. "Great Deku Tree! Are you alright?" "Link...You have done well to help the forest. But unfortunately, my life can't be saved. But as soon as I die, the seal will be broken and you and Zelda can leave. Then, you can finally learn about your past." Tears filled my eyes. "N-No! You can't die! Great Deku Tree!" I couldn't save the Deku Tree, how was I supposed to learn about my past? At that moment though, all I wanted to do was avenge The Deku Tree. I felt the blood pulsing through my veins. "The Triforce Of Courage was supposed to be a 'mark of a hero'! What good is it If I couldn't save the Deku Tree?!" I cried.
