To start, press the green flag When you start, move the players into whatever spot you want them in (for example: #1 hitter, #2 hitter, etc.). Do this by clicking and dragging slowly. The stats on the sheet next to the board will help you decide where to place your players. The simulation will then calculate how good your team is based on the chosen positions of your players. IMPORTANT: make sure that you have 1 player in each spot, no more, no less. If you do not do this, the simulation will not work. When you are ready, press the "proceed to simulation" button and wait a few seconds for the simulation to run, and it will show you the results. At the end, you can press the "run simulation again" button to run again, the "finish" button to finish, and the green flag to change your lineup. Look below for definitions of words.
AVG: abbreviation for batting average, which is the rate of how often the players hit the ball per at bat, a number between .000 and 1.000. SLG: slugging percentage, which is similar to batting average, but it gives more weight to hits that are more than 1 base. AB: How many times a player came up to the plate over a season. 1B: How many times a player hits a ball and ends up at first base. 2B: How many times a player hits a ball and ends up at second base. 3B: How many times a player hits a ball and ends up at third base. HR: Abbreviation for home run BB: How many times a player walks during a season. More is better for this stat. Keep in mind that the baseball schedule is 162 games long. At the end of the simulation, you will see wins and losses. Your wins and losses added together should equal 162. Also, getting more than 100 wins or losses is rare. So you might think that winning 85 games is not that great, but it is good.
