- Dragonborne ranking/roles - Children/juveniles[newborn - 15] Gatherers[Gatherers gather supplies, self explanatory, low ranked] Weavers[high ranked than gatherers, weave things like clothes, blankets, etc] Welders/Weapons makers[Middle ranked, craft weapons/armor for the soldiers, usually taught by weapon masters, could make basic weapons/armors] Hunters[A little higher than Welders, they go out to hunt, and are usually among the fastest, are essential though not very appreciated.] Soldiers[Different ranks mean different over all ranks, guards are usually low ranked, soldiers are middle ranked, second in command is high ranked, and head of the army/guard is usually among elders in terms of ranking.] Weapons Master[High ranking, usually weapon masters are among the older dragon borne, 30 or so in age, and are extremely valuable. Get rid of the weapons master[s] and the colony are usually done for because welders are not as able to make as powerful weapons] Healers[High ranking, highly respected, and are as important as Weapon Masters, without healers, things would go downhill] Magus[Dragonborne that are more known for using their abilities more than weapons, are respected because they master their abilities and could be dangerous. Are trying to learn how to use Ancient magic and failing.] Elder[Elders are basically the leaders of the colony, are usually under the high elder though, but wield a good amount of power] High Elder[The High Elder is the highest rank, and is the leader of the colony, making most decisions, High Elders are usually chosen by the patron god of dragonborne] - Terminology - Traitor - Someone who someone like the high elder deems a traitor after doing something against what the high elder deems against their own kind. Earthbound - Someone who lost their wings one way or another, and are usually abandoned by their colony afterwards. Usually either during battle, or by the high elder. God-Bound - Someone who is ‘chosen’ by the patron god of the dragonborne as his chosen one. They are marked by the god with new markings. No ‘known’ Examples of this. Thinblood - A child that is not full Dragonborne. Colonies usually ditch them with their non-dragonborne parent if the dragonborne parent dies, or becomes a Blood Traitor/Earthbound. Most common Thinblood types are usually when they are part human or elf[Human thinblood, and Elvien Thinblood]. Solivagant - Dragonborne that don’t live in colonies. Dragon-Legacy - Children of a thin blood - God - Solkarin[look at my twin gods project for more info] - races - WIP. - Explanation on markings - Markings are basically like finger prints, they are unique to the dragonborne themself, which makes big distinctions, and it’s partially a way to tell different species of dragonborne apart[will be explained more on the races&rarity] - base abilities for all species - Shapeshifting into three forms, human, partial dragon, pure dragon. Glowing eyes[even thinbloods have this ability even if they take after the non-db more than the db] Abilities relating to their species, or race. They can go from their normal size to pocket size <3 - Explanation if you don’t wanna read everything - So, basically, the species I made are called Dragonborne, created by the god Solkarin[he is the twin brother of the Elvien goddess, Faeleen], and they are usually in the form of partial dragon and partial human, with the ability to go complete dragon, or mostly human[I say mostly human because dragonborne have markings on them that make it easy to tell each other apart, like fingerprints, and they are constantly able to be seen between their three forms, dragon, partial, and human, but are able to be covered up be makeup, besides that they are completely human], and they do have various abilities, some shared across all races, some specific to that race, like how changing sizes are shared among the races. Dragonborne are also sometimes mistaken for dragons, which are a different species entirely. Dragonborne are also extremely rare, with some races being completely extinct, and are rarer than thinbloods[A child that is part other species, part dragonborne]. Dragoborne also have many ranks in their colonies, like High elder[basically the leader, elders[people the help high elders], weapon masters, etc. some dragoborne are also known as god-bound, when they are thought of to be chosen by Solkarin. - Types of thinbloods - I’ll put in another project and link it. Link: - Language - *Language* has mostly died out, but some DBs still use it in things like prayers and etc. - Animals/things I based DBs off of - Cats Huskies[idk why] Owls Dragons from HTTYD+WoF Name from dnd Great Danes. Solely for the part where they think they could fit in peoples’ laps in their large dragon forms Parrots. Just for the mimickery. Corvids bc, shiny things, and they’re lil smart___es
WIP - Random info - Dragonborne are omnivores, they can eat berries, nuts, and many types of meat. They do prefer meat though, but like humans/elvien, they have to have non-meat too, so they can survive, but they can’t just survive off of berries, nuts, and etc. Yes, humans count too as animals they can eat, though, they very rarely do, unless it’s needed when they are about to die out, and need to feed their children. High Elders are known to get much larger than most dragonborne. Dragonborne are known to live up to 500 years old if given the right conditions. Their scales dry out decently fast, so they are normally spotted bathing in bodies of water. DB’s scales are fire proof/ice resistant, and are overall very powerful, and even more powerful depending on what race, sometimes they will use shedded dragon scales to make under armour for their non-dragonborne friends/pets. They also are known to keep different species as pets, like the standard animals, and sometimes, humans/elves, werewolves, angels, demons, and the occasional demigod.[and very rarely vampires] Dragonborne genes are generally more recessive, so there’s more of a chance that the Thinblood will take after the other parent more than the db parent. There’s usually a designated babysitter for children in colonies, and they are usually High Elder’s apprentices![ie, Lori Varthos] Dbs are more likely to become earthbound via High Elders tearing their wings off than in battle, or by hunters. A lot of dragonborne are very clingy, especially if you raised one from infancy, or from when they’re a newborn. Most dragonborne are not always social with other species, but there’s always the rare gem. And if you don’t find one, if you befriend a dragonborne that’s not social, they will become your buddy for life, a very clingy, loud, buddy. Dragonborne are very clean creatures, and will give you a dirty look if you get them dirty against their will. Which will lead to a pouty dragonborne ignoring you for hours on end. DBs are a lot like cats, or owls, and it’s the funniest thing to watch them get spooked by something random. THEY LOVE CUDDLES. GIVE DRAGONBORNES DAILY CUDDLES OR THEY’LL BE POUTY AND SAD. DBs that live in colonies usually do not know how human technology works, and get scared by it easily. Some will think they can fit in your lap in their dragonform, especially if they’re big. They will bring you random treasure if they like you. They have nests, don’t touch the nests unless they want you to. Some dbs have feathery wings. They are not usually angelic thinbloods[Thinbloods with the parent being an angel], it’s a cute rare genetic mutation. They love mimicking. No context required. Pocket sized Dragonbornes are adorable <3 Dragons and Dragonborne are two different species. DBs are almost extinct because they are hunted for sport, sadly. They can be very noisy creatures in their dragon forms if upset.[Like, husky level of ___y
