Space bar/tap screen. TV-MA (gory, language, violence, and sometimes other things, which is normal for AMC I guess) Rating Scale: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1155305447
This is a bit of a stranger one for me to do, since I don't particularly like the horror genre (the few I have seen are barely horror-), but I've had to sit through parts of this show three seperate times now over the years. This time I had/got to sit through all 11 season of the main show (give or take a few episodes, but never missed anything major). I've also seen the up to the recent seasons of Dead City and Daryl Dixon (recent as of like May 2026), as well as bits and pieces of Fear the Walking Dead, so this will be a broad review of the TV universe in general (TDW is apparently based on a comic series of the same name). TWD is yet another "the dead have risen" show, though unlike some/most of the others, these zombies- "Walkers" they're mostly called (different people call them different things from time to time because apparently "zombie" isn't in this universe's vocabulary)- don't really run. That's not relevant though. What is relevant is the characters, for they are main focus of the show (naturally; the main/basic plot kinda changes from season to season, but there's always some other enemy or whatever out there. TDW starts with a cop, Rick Grimes waking up from a coma, who discovers that the entire world has changed (a nod to 28 Days Later, actually) and sets out to find his family, which now that I'm typing this is kinda funny because the main group practically becomes this whole found-family thing- In the main show, they never really leave the Virginia-Georgia states area, though survivors do come from all over. The farthest in the main show someone has come from is I think Texas. Personally, the main thing carrying the show is the characters. There's a lot of fan-favorites here, including one of the main villains. I don't know about others, but I personally really like Carol, Daryl, and Ezekiel. Daryl is kinda the main hunter/tracker of the group throughout the whole show. As for the other two, I won't say because Carol is hard to place in the really seasons, and Ezekiel is best left unsaid because he's just so much fun. The thing is with this show is that even early on, they really show you that no one is safe. I lost track of character losses by like Season 5, and characters of a certain age-range are like cursed. Like, this show is almost as bad as Supernatural (SPN is worse because we spent A LOT more time with the characters because it's a smaller cast). Speaking of SPN, two actors (side/minor-but-still-important-characters) from there are main characters in TDW, so that's fun. TDW can be TIEDIOUSLY slow sometimes, but it's worth it for the bigger moments, and, as I said, the characters. This show is sorta funny at times, partly because these are the EASIEST zombies ever-
