in response to this: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1382584775 my comment that was :ahem: muted: " Ugh. This sucks. Your designs were MUCH better than the stupid generative AI art. It sucks to see real artists get beaten by people who made a bot make something FOR them. Like, are you KIDDING me? If the world has come to choosing sloppy AI work over your awesome designs, then so be it. They can live in their little delusion that the AI designs are better. I would totally wear the pigeon ones over ANY of the other contestants AI "designs", hands DOWN. " Literally? I've heard a lot of AI stories throughout my life, but this kind of ticked me off a bit. Like, an almost UNREASONABLE amount of anger and frustration overcame me. OK, sure, I might be overreacting, but so what? It's crazy to me that someone would choose some AI slop over someones entry who actually took time and effort into making designs. Isn't that what contests are for? For everyone to strive their hardest to win? To be discouraged by losing to AI sucks. It really does. Being a fellow teenage homeschooler myself, I can relate to not being able to join many contests, (and if joined at all, only to lose.) It's one thing to choose AI over an adult. Adults are a bit more resilient. But a thirteen year old girl? Are you PURPOSEFULLY trying to attack her goals? Does society want us, as artists, to fail? It's not fair. Someone who used AI wouldn't be discouraged if they lost. They wouldn't feel like all of their effort was in vain. They would just be upset if they didn't win a little prize or whatever. And that sucks. I really hope we can bring justice back to real art. I do. Until then, though, I do not want to see ANYONE give up on their artist dreams due to AI, you UNDERSTAND? Good. Until next time, cya, friends. :3 (Also I got muted for trying to post the first comment because I was being 'mean' or whatever, but it's the truth --- at least in my opinion.) Art for LIFE.
