The narrow walkway clung to the side of the frosted ravine, dusted with a fresh layer of January snow. Mrs. Willow, a patient rabbit ushered her class forward. She firmly believed January was the best month to visit; the cold air kept the usual crowds away, and the scenery was very cold.the class shuffled along the narrow path in a neat line. The rabbits led the pack. Jaime, Bonnie, Ellora, Daniella, and Duke bounded ahead with excitement, though they made sure to look back frequently for Jason, Ocean, and Kristina, also known as Kristen. The three of them had only arrived at the academy two weeks ago, and the older students wanted to make sure they felt included. Close by, a gentle rabbit named Lily kept a watchful eye on the newcomers, ensuring no one slipped on the icy patches.Behind the rabbits came the squirrels. Gabby and Kori Michelle were chatting rapidly, while Christopher tried his best to keep the younger siblings in check. Hazelnut, who preferred to go by Hazel, and Peanut were busy tossing tiny snowballs at each other, completely ignoring their littlest sister, Chestnut, who was hopping along to keep her toes warm.Further down the line, the dormice, Felix and Zoey, were bundled so tightly in their winter scarves that they looked like fuzzy marbles. They stayed far away from Max and Rascal, the two bully rats who were whispering mischievously and nudging each other near the edge of the path. On the safer side of the walkway, the bilbies,Charles, Billy, and Jackson, used their long ears to shield themselves from the freezing wind, their large eyes taking in the massive icicles hanging from the cliffs above. The walkway grew exceptionally narrow as it curved around a massive boulder. Mrs. Willow raised a paw, signaling for the class to slow down and hold onto the guide rails.Suddenly, the silence of the winter forest was broken."Look!" said Jaime, pointing a trembling paw toward the snow-covered clearing just below the ridge. "A bear." The class trembled. The bear was still awake. It was eyeing the class and it's eyes stayed on them. Jaime said, "A badger! Look intimidating! They are both predators, especially for rabbits." The class got on top of each other, the dormice on top. The bear wasn't outsmarted. It said to the badger,"still prey." And the badger, named Tori, was stealthy and took the dormice."We didn't steal your cheesecakes!"They said. Trembling. Jaime was a great classmate and she grabbed the badger, trying not to drop the badger. The Bear, Jakey, A cub, grabbed a tree and lifted up his feet and he stood, near the rabbits. "No plants. The snow. I'm an omnivore." But, nevermind, go in peace." The class ran. The bear and badger were out of sight. The rabbits were out of breath.
The class reached the hill. They knew it was slippery. Suddenly, a lynx showed up! The class trembled. The rats said, "Symptoms of dumbness." The class ran. Is this the end? Nope. The lynx smirked. The lynx saw the class and said, "Eh, no worries." The class looked up. Max tripped. Then, He was very mad. The ice was thick and hard, and Max looked like a rat who was soaked in the rain. "STOP YOUR STUPIDITY KIDS!" The class and the Lynx stared. The lynx sighed. "Now, let's be calm-" Max interrupted him."WHY DO YOU CARE?!" As the class walked up the hill, the lynx, who was a ranger was walking with them, watching them in case some one slipped.
