“silence, noun si·lence; forbearance from speech or noise : muteness —often used interjectionally” i have a few different definitions: silence is when you talk to them them, who you’ve known for two months instead of me me who you’ve known for two years silence is when you call me “your bestie” then dare to sit at their lunch table them, who you’ve known for two months silence is when you them, who you’ve known for two months it looks like friends, 3 makes a group tastes like hurt, but do i know how that really is like feels like faking, my “smile” falling exactly when you turn away smells like jogging in pe, you inbetween me and them, sweaty bodies moving as one sounds like lies as i continue to be “fine” you are such and amazing friend, so amazing, but you just can’t seem to notice my silence and i’m just trying to be the happy friend for you i’ve re-written this poem four times, trying to find the right words without making you the bad guy because you are not, you are anything but and they’re not the villain, they are just there i don’t know what i’m doing with this poem does this even fit the theme anymore? maybe i’m just selfish maybe i’m just desperate for attention because i am i am selfish i am desperate for attention i’ll delete this after the competition, maybe you’ll see it, maybe not after all, what happens on scratch stays on scratch, right? i’m fine right here, stuck in my silence
